I did a bit of research and realized 1:5 twist rate barrels are what you want for subsonic 300 Blk rounds to get the best accuracy. I bought a 1:5 twist barrel for my build and so far it's spot on with accuracy, often shooting holes nearly on top of the hole before it.

This channel is criminally underrated! The only other channel I’ve seen that offers the same data points is Tnoutdoors9 but he hasn’t been posting much for a few years. I believe you want a higher twist rate for the slower speed ammo to stabilize, alternatively, use the blunt nose stuff which has a more fwd CG than the A-max and will stabilize at the lower RPM. I'm shooting the Ruger ranch bolt gun in 300 AAC 16" barrel and 1:7 twist, sub MOA groups.

I wouldn’t blame the ammo for a PSA build not liking the ammo. I get sub 1’ groups out to 150y out of my 10.5 criterion core barrel with hornady black 208g amax. Tho it definitely could be a different in hornady vs AAC. Great vid.

Its a pressure issue with the buffer. The pressure comming off the blast of the bullet is JUST short of it at the specs this bullet is at. One slight step down in weight should solve the issue. Or adjust your has block to hold in more pressure (if you have an adjustable one) Literally he just said this after I typed it 😂

Most of the 200+ grain loads for the blkout is poor accuracy because it just doesn't like to stabilize at such low velocity. I dont go above a 178 grain and it can be fired subsonic.

Can confirm at 300 win mag velocities these are deadly. I push them around 2900 at the muzzle and theyll kill a whitetail deader than dead at any distance you can ethically hit them

I have had issues feeding subsonic with my 10 round magazine. All off my 30 cycle without issue.

Dude, you need a suppressor to properly cycle subs at that short barrel lenth.

I honestly want to know what the appeal of .300 Blk is. Yeah, you can get supers, but from the barrel length most people are shooting them from, they still aren't above the minimum threshold for cavitation damage from a spitzer projectile. It's okay ballistics, if you think of it more as a magnum handgun round. But let's face it; the cartridge exists for the subsonic offerings, which almost always suck. On paper it is matching a .45 ACP. But in reality, most loads use heavy match bullets that don't perform well at subsonic velocity, whereas at least with a .45, or even a 9mm, you can count on bullets designed to perform at those velocities. Without expensive specialty projectiles, the .300 Blk always seemed like a solution in search of a problem to me. I'd honestly rather have a legit pistol cartridge for suppression and a legit high velocity rifle cartridge for everything else. The .300 Blk falls in those over-hyped niche rounds, like 5.7x28, that never seem to perform well in testing.

Would you recommend for home defense suppressed? I’m building an indoor rig. I have an 8” build I’m more than likely going to switch to a 10.5” barrel with adjustable gas block and top it off with my omega 36m suppressor.

Adleast your aac fired.. I bought the 110 vmax awhile back and literally half the ammo wouldn't fire the primer was struck and I even ran the ones that didn't fire through the mag a 2nd time and they were just duds personally not a fan of aac at all

Can’t get these to feed. Two different rifles have the tip nose dive into the feed ramp. All other ammo feeds perfect.
