This video goes through 30 pounds of untested digital cameras that I won in an online auction. Will the gamble pay off? Join me as I go through 14 different Digital DSLR cameras including the below:
To support me, any purchase you make through the Cleaning cloth pack Amazon affiliate link below will help me to continue to make videos, and is much appreciated!

Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 50D
Canon EOS Rebel XTi
Canon EOS Rebel XSi
Canon EOS Rebel T2i
Nikon D60

Nikon D5200
I will go through testing these Digital SLR cameras with batteries and lenses to ensure that they work. Some will and some won't, it's the nature of buying large untested lots! And based on my sales history, I will give estimated values as to what they are worth in 2024 on marketplaces like eBay. My goal on this lot is $750, so hopefully we can get there!

The D5200 alone probably makes the whole lot worth it, as I see those for sale for around $200-$250 with a lens.

A lot of these cameras are from a time when I bought my first camera. I could only afford a little canon powershot, but I did lust after these ASP-C SLRs. Hearing how far the prices have come down by now does make it tempting to get my hands on one, even though I now own two modern mirrorless cameras that will outperform them in every way (except maybe battery life).

Your newer mirrorless cams probably will! But for just some casual everyday shooting with the right lens, you can still get some great pics out of 'em!

I love Nikon cameras and even though I have a Nikon D850, which is the top of the line Nikon DSLR, I love collecting the older Nikon DSLRs like the D70, D70s, D80 and D600. I buy only Mint or Near Mint and even then they are dirt cheap.

The prices were outrageous in the eraly DSLR years and they were really slow in use. Not until Nikon's D70. That model was a revolution for enthusiasts with almost instant timings from off to review. It also had/has 1/500s flash sync. The early semi-pro Canons; D30, D60 and 10D do not take EF-S lenses, (worth mentioning). My experience with 40D is very good, except for below zero C or 32F operation, which may give the the Err99 /broken shutter fault. The more expensive models like 7D 1Ds 1D DX etc. will handle the cold better.

I bougth a mint condition EOS 5d MK2 a year ago for 180 USD. That was the body I used all of my proffesional shooting. Along with a 6D. The photos are just as good now as they where when it was released for 3000 USD. ;)

I bought a Canon 90D when it came out as I guessed it would be the end of that line. Everyday carry is my M50 MKII along with a good old Canon A1 35mm to back it up. When the wife or kids want a DSLR to borrow, I have the awesome Canon T5i. I will most likely keep them all forever.

Over a $1K and that doesn't include the cameras that weren't working but you can fix or sell as "parts only". Very impressive. Since I collect only Nikon cameras because I have a ton of F mount lenses I would be interested in the Nikon D60. I currently have the D70s & D80 that I use regularly.

And in the UK the profit margins are crazy sold a purple S3300 £110 so like 140 dollers and a red s4300 for £114 pounds just to mention a few. Please keep making these videos and keep up the good work

Just got algorithm'd to your channel for the first time. What fun! Among this lot, I have only a 40D. I paid just under $80 US for mine with a low shutter count (30K) and a six-month warranty. It's in near-mint condition. To me, given I have glass to use already, that's a steal. I've bought a few new Canon cameras: A1, PS710, 7D. But now I buy used or Canon refurbished. That's why this sight has such appeal. Earned my sub, and some viewing time on this lazy Sunday evening.

Nice! The EOS 40D is a great camera! When it was released, the MSRP was $1299 for the body only, pretty crazy. Glad to hear you're having fun with Canon, they're one of my favorites. Thanks for the kind words. I've got a new video coming out shortly about the EOS D60, which is a 6MP DSLR camera released in 2002.

I shot an XTI for a couple of weeks in 2007, an EOS 30d for about a year in 2007 and in 2008 I got an EOS 40d which I still use. The XTI is so nice and light, fun to shoot with, 30d took great photos but didn't have a sensor cleaner. I also shoot the original EOS M which is somewhat slower to work with but takes lovely photos. That 22mm f/2 lens is a peach. The 40d is on the second shutter and is at about 95.000 shutter count.

I am a Canon guy, mostly because my lenses are EF mount. And the HHS flashes abd stuff. I used to work as a portrait photographer and a photo teacher. These days I don't have that kind of money. So I go for the used bodies that was the first of something. I feel the producers put more effort into their "first" than they do with their follow ups. So I have the original EOS-M, it's built like a tank..and small. The 5D2, the 6D and the 70D. It works out beatifully. :)

That's awesome, I never did photography professionally, or taught it, so I'm sure you're a wealth of knowledge on the subject! I agree in regards to cameras that "changed the game". Especially now, it seems like manufacturers are often barely differentiating new models from prior versions.

Just bought a Canon 20D with a Ultrasonic 17-85 sadly the AF on the lens was broken but MF works fine and it is a tank heavy and big, my 800D is extremly light and smaller but it is many years newer, but i really enjoy the 20D. Bought it for 30$ with charger and 2 batteries and the lens. Hope you have a great day love your content!

I have an EOS 50D that I bought new in 2009 (body only) for £1000 (GBP). It's in mint condition despite having a shutter count of 77,500 and I still use it on a regular basis. I also have an EOS D60 that I bought second hand in about 2007. I can't remember how much I paid for it and I don't know the shutter count but it's still working and the CCD sensor produces great images.

4:56 That 340MB IBM microdrive is a spinning HDD. Uses more power and is a bit more fragile, but it was the only way to get "large" storage in those early days. I picked up a Nikon $45 D90 with lens, and a $250 D300 with multiple lenses and flash. Going to use them to teach some Boy Scouts and then sell them. The D90 only had 1619 shutter actuations so I'll make money when I go to resell that one. The D300 I'll probably lose $100, but I'm also keeping a $120 lens and $80 flash that came with it. The D300 had buttons that would get stuck but some rubbing alcohol fixed that (weather sealed body so it seemed safe to do).

I can see just by looking that you’ve easily surpassed $300,if they work, but I think your a bit heavy handed, that’s why when you buy secondhand there scuffed, and show signs of rough handling,I saw them tumble in the box as you put them on the table, but apart from that good video, have you got any fully charged canon batteries

The first camera is a Canon EOS 40D (it's NOT pronounced "YOU WUSS" it's actually pronounced : EEE OSS - you know, just like the LETTERS "EOS") & the second one (the EOS 50D) is NOT the same as the Rebel XT, the Rebel XT is the EOS 350D (which is the 3rd tier of cameras while the 50D is a 2nd tier camera) while the 3rd camera (the Rebel XTi) is the same as the EOS 400D, the Rebel T2i is the EOS 550D, the Rebel XSi is the 450D. & YES, I had (infact STILL HAVE) the Rebel XTi but it doesn't get much use now as I now have an EOS 5D Mark II as my main camera. The Rebel names are used in North America & Japan while in Europe they are known using the numbers. The thing to bear in mind is that Canon use the model numbers to designate the level of the camera. The top tier use ONE number & are considered to be the "PROFESSIONAL" cameras, 2nd tier use TWO digits & are considered to be the "Amateur end of the Professional" range, then there's the 3rd tier which uses THREE digits & is the "Professional end of the Amateur range" & then the 4th tier which (surprise, surprise) uses FOUR digits & is the Amateur camera range.

I didn't get this lot on eBay, there are quite a few other auction sites that ship out if you're a winner, you just have to factor in buyer's premium (15-20% on top of final hammer price) on them as they are done often through actual auction houses.
