Good to see a new hunt, really sucks when you lose a supplier or dealer. Over the last several years I've lost about 10 dealer friends either to death or retirement.

Thank you for the old penny hunt Paul. There were plenty of 1962 to 1967 pennies in this batch. Hopefully you will find alot of 1800’s pennies next time😅

The 1920 Australian penny is very interesting. In that year there were a number of different varieties with dots above and below the lower scroll depending where the coin was minted. Some of the varieties are very rare and valuable so it might well be worth taking a look at the coin under a microscope to see exactly which type you have. I think yours is probably a dot below the lower scroll variety which makes it Sydney minted and fairly common.

Always love your Penny give away. Yes, you are right about the new 5p I noticed that when they were first show. Maybe the designer was not au fait with the pre decimal coins of George V.

Not much on the early end, no key dates this time either. That 1881H is easy one to find, the no H is much harder to get. I did just finish Whitman book 4 today!

The 67’s didn’t dominate the hunt, but certainly there was a lack of variation, not so many pre 1900’s sadly, that being said, a very good £14 spent,

G'day Paul great to see some pennies again the 1923 Australian penny has a mintage of 3,635 a little low but as we know it comes down to condition a VF about $50 Australian dollars there is a nice variety in this box lets hope you can get some more pennies 🤞 a very enjoyable video cheers mate.

I have quite a few thruppenies and sixpence but I didn’t realise until today, the significance of the number of acorns and oak leaves. I also noticed that the George VI thrupennies have three thrift flowers. I wonder now if there’s any other coins with objects on them that indicate a numeric value .

Im stacking these now along with any bronze penny pre 1992. A bronze 2p now scraps for 2.8p per coin. You can get the old pennys for like £2 per kilo from brittania coin company, possibly even cheaper elsewhere, bronze currently scraps for £3.80 per kilo.
