Winter has been grueling so far. Ponds and Lakes are Frozen. Spillways are the only chance at fish. Fishing with Floating Jig Heads is not my normal way to fish with live bait.
The Delaware bite has been very bad. So I plopped a few night crawlers on floating jig heads at a spillway near the Delaware/Maryland Border. So I was happy with anything that bit and ended up on my floating jig heads... It's all about the tug....ENJOY !!!

Hey Dan, another great episode. You worked and fish got put on the end of the line. What kind of fish doesn't matter. What matters is even with the struggle you got em. Its fishin not catching plus it also not like someone putting on the line for you. You catch what's there. Great Job

If bluegill is the only thing bitting, down size the hook, never used the floating jig before, but bluegill are hard to catch on such a large hook, I like a #6 panfish hook for bluegill, good video anyway.

Nice way to keep the hook off debris on the bottom. Before last weekend I went to a creek to fish on night crawlers… nada 👎

secret with these is to fish them with an open bail, and the minute you feel a hit you let the line out.

Next time u go to mud mill garrison lake or massy mill pond let me know they are the 3 I fish most and I know most of the hunny holes for them

As a hunter I’ve learned long ago that two pair of thick socks are your worse enemy in the cold they’ll make your feet sweat and the sweat causes the cold if you get a chance find what they call boot liners and try those they are a thin sock that help wick away your sweat put those on then a thick pair of socks I hope that helps

Man u should of let me k ow u where going to mud mill I live on grygo road 2 mins from there I could of took u back to the hunny hole for bass n bull head cat fish and some channel cats on the low side and the pan fish hole is on the low side off the right of the bridge and in the spill way

Hey Dan. Where are some good places in Kent County I can take my son for some easy bluegill fishing in Spring? I would go to Moore's Lake as a kid, but that area isn't the best anymore.

Camden Wyoming Spillway is a fun spot for kids
