Thank you! Yeah I've fallen in love with the simplicity of the Anderson cam's myself. They idle just like they should without a bunch of tune work with the EFI cars and they still make power. Sounds like you've got a runner your self! Next videos you'll see of this coupe will be with a 14:1 363" with yet another Anderson cam. It'll have the N-113hl. Should be soon!

Thanks, I appreciate it. We actually used the stock paint code but added some blue pearl to it. That actually made the red a little lighter. It does have a hue of blue to it in the right light though. Good luck with the painting!

Mid 11's is a very reasonable goal on pump gas. A simple combo like a set of afr 165's, nice custom cam, and a good intake could get you there depending upon what the car will weigh and depending upon how much emphasis you want to put on the drag end of things. You wouldn't really even need to do pistons if you didn't want to. My pistons were from Ross.

90mm throttle body. I put this engine in the car back in 2004 and pulled it out this last fall. It was still running strong. I did pull the main caps and all bearings looked good. There was just a hint of cap walk but that was to be expected. I put a lot of street miles on this engine, especially when I first put it in the car. That was back when 110 octane was cheap :)

They are Ross domes. ~12.5:1 compression. When I bought the trick flows back in 2003 they didn't advertise as intake runner sizes but I'm pretty sure they were 170cc stock. I had JDC do at "stage 3" port job to them and they flowed ~300 intake and ~220 exhaust @ .550. By looking at TEA's numbers they look to be somewhere in the 205 range.

+Rusty Krys I'm just seeing this comment . Did u get ur motor finished and in ur car? N81 cams are nasty! Awesome sound ! Perfect for a real good top end , like victor junior heads or something to that nature . I def would run a real steep gear bc I had a n71 in my 331 and it didn't wake up till 4500, then that bitch came alive. It's almost like a vtech or power band on a dirt bike.. So 430 or 410 gears recommended . I'm running now a 331, victor junior heads, victor efi intake , n111 cam, 456 gear with a Richmond 6 speed. I love the Anderson cams and parts , they are very expensive but u pay for what u get . And to the vibrant video , where bouts do u live ? It looks like a nice area whatever u are . Lot of street racing out there ??

@blown06tc Thanks! Neutral balance puts a lot less stress on the crank due to not having to have external counter weights. A factory ford external weight is 50oz. If you can balance the crank with mallory internally it's a much better way of doing things.

The Victor EFI intake doesn't have a pcv system so if you run one you need to make some sort of breather setup. I just used a hole saw and cut a hole in each valve cover and then bought the breather stacks from Mr.Gasket. The stacks did have baffles in them but I cut one out so I could fill the engine with oil quicker. With the baffles in it took forever to fill. The actual breathers are just a couple of K&Ns.

@bigandrw7 I don't have the job card in front of me but from what I remember they are in the neighborhood of +11cc on the dome and and a net dome height of somewhere around .400". Yes it's a 4.030" bore. Compression with my 56cc heads was right around 12.25:1. It's been together for 6 years now so some of these numbers could be a little inaccurate. Hell, I cant remember what I ate for dinner last night. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it!

Yes the heads were ported. They flowed more back in 2004 than they did recently when we put them on the bench. Funny how that works isn't it? Based on what I know now, intake side at .600" was around 265 cfm and exhaust at the same lift was around 189 cfm back when they were ported in 2004. We worked the short turn hard and opened the mouth up quite a bit for my 363" deal and they are now in the 300 cfm range intake and 200cfm exhaust side.

Yes, the lower had to be milled quite a bit. Once we cut the sides then the thing sat on the end rails so they had to be cut too. Be carefull though, the front of the intake gets thin in the water jacket area.

Thank you! I loved the cam and can only hope the n-113hl runs the same in my 363. It started right up every time without a hint of idle hunt. Street manors with a little 306 were what you'd expect from a 240/248* cam. It didn't want to be below 2,000 rpm so I didn't go there :) If you've got the right heads and intake this cam will spin 7500rpm all day long.

I did use their springs. It's not the lift capability of the springs you have now that's important as much as the spring pressure. The HR-15018 springs that I ran with the N-91 were 150lbs on the seat @1.800" installed height and 450lbs open @ 1.200". Coil bind was 1.150" so they were good to roughly .600" lift as well. If your springs have numbers close to that then I'd say you'll be fine. However, if you don't have the spring pressure you'll float valves.
@vibrant93
@vibrant93 12 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I appreciate the nice words! Basically if you are running a small cubic inch motor you'll need some compression. Other then that, just the right valve springs. 150lb on the seat and 450lbs open should do it. Specs are 240/248 @.050 and .576/.576 lift.

I'm using a Holley hp series 650 and edelbrock victor jr intake. Also planning on using the Anderson n-71 cam. I want this engine to be run on pump gas but also want the highest c/r I can have by doing so. Do you think this combo of parts could make 400 fwhp? Thanks.

@vibrant93 nobody can get cam cores right now. So even trying to go the custom cam route is out of the question. I went with a trick flow stage 3 while I could get that. Summit sold out overnight, and lmr was almost sold out, so I ordered that for when my 363 shows up, I have a cam for it. Trust me, I would rather have an anderson cam. They have n112 and n113 in stock, but they aren't street friendly. I do more street driving than drag racing.

@phillie356 No it doesn't really drone. I had the 3" flowmasters on before these Spintech's and they had a drone at that 2,200-2,500 range, no doubt about it. I think the Spintech's opened things up enough to get rid of that. They are loud though! When you get after it they hit hard and get very raspy/tinny if that makes sense? I'd love to try a set of 3" Bullets. They make a car sounds like it's reving 2k rpm more than it is so that'd be fun! I have the old version super pro's.
