307: Wonder Artistic Models Plesiosaur (Thalassamdeon) Review (2024)

Күн бұрынAt last, a plesiosaurid! Well, in a manner of speaking. This is a new model from Wonder Artistic Models, and gives us a plesiosaur, one of the most iconic sea reptiles ever.
Once again capturing the essential anatomical features with a three-dimensionality that comes from a deep interest in anatomy and an ingenious and creative mind, the WAM plesiosaur captures the grace and elegance in way you wouldn't expect coming from a construct of flat pieces.
What a wonderful delight to have this plesiosaurid. I can't wait to pose a good plesiosaurid model next to it... if it is ever released!

Muy buena review! Es un modelo espectacular 🤩 El equipo de Wonder ha lanzado modelos muy interesantes y con puntos de articulación bastante ingeniosos 😁 La atención en los detalles como el corte entre los huesos de las falanges de las aletas es muy satisfactorio! ✨

Thanks for another fantastic WAM review. These figures are absolutely amazing and the design engineering that enables such detailed and accurate 3-dimensional representation is incredible. I haven't bought any yet as they are quite expensive to import to the UK. Plus the fact that I've already reached a critical space constraint thanks to Messrs PNSO, Haolonggood, Rebor, Eofauna, Nanmu, Beasts of the Mesozoic, etc.. These WAM figures deserve prominent display in an uncluttered environment to enjoy their individual splendor. There's the rub. But I would really love to get a few of these. Awesome!!

Thank you for appreciating these wonderful pieces of art! Indeed, these are just beautiful and WAM is really amazing. I hope more people can give them the support they need; these small businesses start with passion and it's tough today. But I definitely get what you mean by delivery. It's a lot to Asia! But occasionally they have promotions which helps. Uncluttered environment... the perennial dream of many a collector!

I’ve been waiting for over 40 years for an accurate and elegant plesiosaur model. This one is amazing but it still doesn’t satisfy if I’m being totally honest. I want to see the flesh. The scales. Color. Eyes piercing back at us. I pray one day we’ll get a proper 1:35 fleshed out accurate figure but until that day this one definitely reigns supreme

Yes I do agree with you, but until I get a real fleshed out model, this is still the best plesiosaur I have. I have to say, I am absolutely puzzled. A plesiosaurid, or even plesiosauroid, would seem to be a no-brainer and very welcome. I was hopeful PNSO would give us one when it went on its diversity run a couple years ago, but those old glory days are gone now.

@@DinosDragons don’t give up hope. I fully expect attention with plesiosaurs eventually. If not from pnso maybe wdragon or rebor Just please god no more goofy heads with awful mouths that look like a kid sliced a piece of clay with a butter knife

Great review! I really appreciates how much effort and study you put in to your videos! Btw, how much does the Wonder Artistic humanoids cost? And do you personally think that it's worth it?

Thank you, it really makes it easy for me when a model is this good and there is plenty to say about it! As for whether the WAM humanoids are worth it, I most definitely think they are! I made a review of the original set here with some thoughts about it. Maybe that might help. I also hope to do one soon about the new set. Hello everyone. Who knows if it is possible to make the pnso theropods stand without a stand themselves all the time and not deform?

Unfortunately not for permanence. I have to use the heat treatment from time to time because I believe they use a softer material that warps over time, especially if your surrounding is hot.
