My brother had agent orange from the Viet Nam war and he suffered over 20 years with it. The last two years of his life he was a Home Fry....he loved this group beyond words. Every time I visited and sat with him this is what we did....listen to Home Free. He listened to them until his last day when he finally had a massive heart attack and once off life support passed....but this group gave him quality to his life. I really didn't appreciate their talent until recently I listened to them with headphones and now I understand why he loved them so much. They are truly therapeutic.

This track was arranged and designed by Adam Chance, the guy who sang first - he usually sings baritone for the group, but he used to sing bass for his previous group, Street Corner Symphony, and he'll take the bass line when Tim is singing lead. We usually call him Chance, so as not to confuse him with Adam Rupp. Rupp is a tenor - he almost never sings lead (by his own choice) but he's a very capable harmony singer, as you hear here. I'm very pleased to see you reacting to more Home Free and looking forward to more, thank you.

Thank you from a new Home Fry. Adam Chance aka Chance (HF baritone) started the song. Home Free:Do You Hear What I Hear (arranged by beatboxer and founder Adam Rupp who is a tenor) is phenomenal! Home Free, Land of the Free, an original song by bass Tim is one of my favorite songs.

Adam Chance aka "Chance" (baritone/bass) started this one. In the 1st two videos you watched, he was standing in the back with Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. Rob Lundquist (beard) was the guy with the overalls. Rob was lead in "End of the Road". Adam Rupp is a tenor. He's doing some of the highs you hear. If you want to hear more of just gorgeous harmony without beatboxing, check out "How Great Thou Art". You even get to hear a brief solo from Adam Rupp! And if you want to have a total blast, check out the "Butts Medley".

Adam Chance (who goes by Chance ) started out this song. H usually sings baritone, but takes over the bass for Tim when needed. He is also capable of showing off his 4 octave range and sings in his higher register. Tim the bass has a 5+ octave range and can sing so low he makes ceiling tiles fall during concerts !!!! Austin is the high tenor and Rob, with beard and glasses is also a tenor. Adam Rupp, the awesome beatboxer, is a tenor when he sings, which is seldom. I am really enjoying you guys, keep up the great reactions !!!!

Let me repeat, because I've just seen two separate reactors who were asked to react to the live version and then went and watched the official video, you want the LIVE (aka concert, aka NOT the official) video. If you watch the official one (which is awesome, don't get me wrong), you will NOT get all 5 guys beatboxing, and you really want to watch all 5 guys beatboxing. Other songs where folks will ask for a specific version and then get ignored by reactors: For Pete's sake, watch a newer version of Adam Rupp's drum solo than the 2015 version. Newer ones have more impressive stuff and he does Billie Jean. Yes, the 2015 version has more views because it is OLDER, not because it is better. Don't watch the derailed version of Guilty Pleasures until you've seen a normal one so you know how it's supposed to go. You lose half the hilarity seeing the derailed version out of context. The concert version of "Your Man" includes a hilarious skit type thing and some mind-blowing vocal gymnastics by Tim. The official version is also "live" but it is not the concert version you want. You want the concert version so you can see the skit and hear what Tim does. Trust me. Though your headphones may not thank me. (Also, the one from Morrison, IL, is hilarious, but you probably want one where Tim doesn't ruin the sound system before he's done with the song.) Please, don't just write down the song name and then look it up on the HF channel. Find the ones that have actually been requested. They're all marvellous examples of just how good these guys are live and in person. I'm not trying to be mean. It's your channel and you can watch what you like, but be aware that with HF if you just go watch the official video for these songs, you're not actually fulfilling the request that was made.

@@lrfcowper I feel the same goes for Ring of Fire. The official version with Avi is good, but a recent live video 2017 and younger is better: it's just them and Tim and Chance play around down in the deep
@lrfcowper
@lrfcowper 3 жыл бұрын
@@cindyb.9840 Yeah. I like the Sing Off version better than the one with Avi. He's great in it. I'd just rather hear Tim. But anything with Chance playing around in his low range is going to be fire. Sometimes I think they should re-record some of the old stuff with Chance, but then that would mean less new stuff, so...

Once again, great reaction. I learn something with every one. Love it. Just for some clarification: First voice to come in is Adam Chance, usually called Chance so as not to confuse him with Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. Chance replaced Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. Adam and Chris started the group in college. Chance has been the only member to change. He was the bass in a previous group before joining Home Free. He usually sings baritone for HF, but covers the bass line for Tim Foust when needed. Second voice is Rob Lundquist. Tenor. The guy wearing the overalls in Man of Constant Sorrow. Third voice is Austin Brown, the high tenor. You should check out his solo cover of Unchained Melody. Simply gorgeous. With all five lined up, Adam Rupp, the beatboxer is second from the left. He has a beautiful tenor voice, but prefers his beatboxing. Finally, the dude on the far right is Tim Foust, the bass who has been known to blow speakers in concert and has a five octave range.
@VJ_9014

Chance, like Tim, is a baritone/bass. I believe when that sustained bass note is held, it's both of them. Tim has a 5 octave range and Chance has a 4 octave range, so they both can sing tenor as well. They switch parts all the time as well as Rob and Austin. All 4 of them flow thru the octaves seamlessly. Adam is another tenor - when he sings. He says he doesn't mind adding the extra harmony, but he's not vocally trained in singing like the others so he doesn't like to do solos. His training was for trumpet and he's awesome at it! I think he said he learned drums only to enhance his bbx skills. Cool! 😄👍 Lovin' the reactions, guys! Thx!

Ni, for suggestions ... Pretty much any song you choose is going to be amazing. In the Blood will tear at your heart, Do You Hear What I Hear will have you in awe. I always cry when I hear Go Rest High On That Mountain (I've buried 2 of my children, and have a 3rd who just left the Military after 20 years). For humor, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, The Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Grandma Got Runover By a Reindeer, and more. Whatever you do, WAIT for Mayday until you have done several of their songs, when you can close your eyes and know who is singing at any particular point of time. It will blow you away, even if you do it next, but we Home Fries can ALWAYS tell when a Reactor jumps to it too soon. Trust me, it's worth the wait!!!!! One last thing, for pure hilarity do Guilty Pleasures Derailed. Don't try to pick it apart, don't do a reaction on the singing or the style, whatever. Just sit back, and prepare to laugh your arses off -- it's called 'Derailed'for a REASON. There's SO many more songs I could list, from their Quarantine videos like Sea Shanty Medley, to collaborations like I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. Covers they do with Original Artists like Elvira, American Pie, One Voice, and more. 'Dark' pieces like Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens, Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix. The list, seriously, just goes on and on. What I listen to depends on the mood I'm in, or the mood that I WANT to be in. There's a reason these guys have a worldwide following, and have gained fans from pretty much every age group (I have an 8 yr old grandson that is obsessed with trying to learn beatboxing -- he was showing me a video from some guy he THOUGHT was good. I pointed out how you could clearly hear every time the guy took a breath to continue on ... then pulled up the Drum Solo by Adam Rupp. He's now in awe, and practicing trying to make sounds that make sense AND go with the set even on the inhale.). So glad that you both really appreciated this song for the beauty of the arrangement! Home Free never disappoints! I have two requests for you, both are Home Free. The first one is a song called Cover me Up and the second one is called Butts Remix, this song shows their sense of humor. Thanks for the reaction!

This group started in 2000 and acquired Tim and Austin in 2012 when they became a country acapella group. In 2016 Chance replaced Chris Rupp and they have been on a steady rise since the Sing Off in 2014. Tim said in 2018 they were just hitting their stride and I hope they will be around for a long time. You guys might check out Austin's new release of Neon Moon.

You were talking about the choir director that did the a capella music with hundreds of people... Check out Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by Peter Hollens featuring Home Free! There's a beautiful surprise that fits in with your talk about layering practices! Also Peter Hollens and Tim Foust do a version of Misty Mountains that will blow your mind! Great reactions! I am really liking how you break things down. ❤

Loved your reaction! They create overtones because their chords are aligned and using the correct vocal production. I sing with a Sweet Adelines chorus (women’s barbershop), and that’s what we are always trying to do. Their harmonies are always awesome - check out their versions of How Great Thou Art (5 part harmony again), take Me Home Country Roads, and In The Blood.

Common mistake early on, the one who start the song is Adam CHANCE, the 4+ octave range baritone. Adam Rupp is clean shaven, he comes in a bit later. This particular arrangement was Tim's, and it's an utter masterpiece. If you want something amazingly complex, and don't care if it's not Christmas time, listen to "Do You Hear What I Hear?" which is Adam Rupp's arrangement that will leave your jaw on the floor.

I just discovered your channel because of Home Free! These guys are impeccably talented, as you saw in the video! This one is my #2 top favorite cover of theirs! They did magic with it! I can already see you two turning into Home Fries (fan nickname). So happy to know how much you can see how good they truly are, and looking forward to seeing more of them on your channel! I had just subscribed after watching the video. There’s such a broad variety of genres they’ve covered. They refer to themselves as Country A Capella, but they’re so unique and diverse. I would like to suggest another good one, which is “How Great Thou Art”.

In some of the older Home Free videos, you will see a guy in a cowboy hat. That is Chris Rupp. He is Adam Rupp’s (beatboxer) brother. The two of them founded Home Free, but Chris left the group to pursue a solo career. He hand picked Adam Chance as his replacement. Hope this prevents confusion as you travel down this amazing rabbit hole of Home Free. Also, please save reacting to Mayday until you are more familiar with the guys and their normal roles within the group. Love the reactions and the way y’all break it down for us!
