Cutting the oak doesn't lead to a lot of waste, because the offcut can start the next row.

Do you guys have a Builderexpo there? I live in Austin, TX and it’s where builders and contractors get paid per pound for any salvageable material that they either ripped out or was going to put in a new home but had a scratch/dent/discoloration etc. We were able to buy our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, appliances, bathtubs, backsplash for shower and kitchen for $1500! It may be called something else there but you may be to find out from a new build GC to get the name of it. That is how we found out!

There is no reason on earth to ever do this, must have added many pointless hours to the job

Was this once a trap house? Was it condemned? Abandoned? What’s the backstory?
