My mom loved this song because she said it reminded her of how she would always love my dad, even after he finalized their divorce on 3/11 of 2004. I was 16, and I remember her crying when she heard this in the car. It makes me cry for her all over again. I love you mom. Rest In Peace!

Ahhhh to be 16 again, I was 16 in 2004 when this was all over FuseTV and rock radio stations. Times were different back then. If only I could go back in time and do things differently and do things over again, part of me would. I would have enjoyed the moment/ride of life. I'm enjoying it now, at 34 years of age.

I've never heard this cover before, but as a fan of The Cure, 311 really did take a the right approach to this song. It has the same emotion as the original, but sounds like a song that the band made their own.

I remember my older brother Mike had this CD back in the day and after "borrowing" it from him multiple times our grandmother took me to Strawberries and bought me the CD so my brother wouldn't kick my ass for taking his, I definitely would have taken an ass kicking to hear this epic song, album and band!!! 311 captured a "drunk outside a bar on a beach with your girlfriend in the cool breeze" vibe with this cover. The original song had a nice gothic-rock vibe, but 311's version just captures that feeling of a specific place and time. Not many songs can do that.

I love the Cure's original rendition, and I love what 311 did with it to make it theirs! When my son was a baby, I danced around my family room with this version to sooth him when he was fussy and to put him to sleep. I love this song for that memory.

311 is so talented and original... a style all their own. Love their heavy tunes, and I get lost in their beachy vibe every time. They transport me back to my high school days when life was more carefree. I am a big fan of The Cure, but I must say that I like this version better! Fits so well in 50 First Dates. My fiancee broke the ice and came up to talk to me about music. 311 being a favorite for the both of us. We got to see y'all back in 2019. I got to hold her and sing this, beautiful disaster and amber to her along with SA, Nick and the band playing. I lost her a month and a half ago. I've been trying to be strong, but I'm really struggling. I come back to these songs and watch the concert we attended(was livestreamed album release show). I remember the whole show. Thank you for allowing me to make one of the greatest, most special memories with the greatest woman I've ever known. I will always love You Amy. Thank you for the greatest 3½ years of my life. 💚♾️💜

I first heard this track a few weeks before "50 first dates" movie was released in theaters. I believe back in the day, record stores would release soundtracks before movies were released in theaters. Those were the days. This songs keeps me in 2004 every time I hear it.

This video makes me think about how my son-in-law met my daughter. She and her friends were always going to shows at Gilman. She came home and told me about a punk-rockabilly band she was dancing to and the guitarist/singer/songwriter made a beeline toward her when their set was over and said, "I love you. Will you marry me?" She laughed, but for him it really was love at first sight. He was one of the best human beings I've ever known, sweet, funny, amazingly talented; a third-generation classically-trained professional musician, whose favorite music to play made him famous. i love the part in this video where it seemlessly transistions in and out of him singing alone to the love interest during the bridge of the song. the director did such a tidy job with that.

I was locked up from late 2003(September) til summer(June)2005. I was only 19 and when I got out I was already 21. So it was to my surprise that one of my favorite bands from my teenage years made such a great cover of an amazing song from the 80's. I guess it was a weird bittersweet feeling.

I remember hearing this on car rides with my parents. I was 10 when this was on the radio, 2004-2005. It matched like seeing the Heavens meet the Earth on any beautiful day usually with clouds in the sky and having a grayish-blue color.

It's a great song no matter what and I like all versions but this one is my absolute favorite version tied in with one of my favorite movies 50 First Dates....makes for such a great experience listening to it everytime....and it was released as I was finishing high school....such a great time in my life.....

I just saw 311 play live about an hour ago. They are an amazing band and sound so great live, better than in this video. You feel their energy and passion for what they do. They are phenomenal 💕
