311 doesn't get the credit they deserve. They are a great band and have been around for almost 30yrs now. One of my favorite bands.

This is a highly unusual, creatively perfect piece of music. I heard it on the radio and sought for it in the station’s online playlist a day later. I’m in love with this song.

Everybody says that he says "So wish us luck" at the end of the first chorus, but he's saying "So where's your plug". This song lives in my head rent free. Is it precious metal or just rust?...BARS

Been listening for about 27 years, they were around before then. I’m glad they aren’t played out, so underrated can be good. That pedal and riff at 1:30 is one of the things about them that is unique. Omaha grows some jamming corn and some delicious 311.

I’ve been humming a high note maybe something that I wrote out sailing in my boat I’m not really sureI’m still singing the same tune I’ve been kicking around since June all morning and afternoon now it’s all a blurI’ve been listening to sea shells to hear the stories that they tell of high times and tide swells that have yet to occurBacksliding down the drain partially taking all the blameChasing coins to fill the purse is it really better or for worse is it a blessing or a curse to pass the buck Is it a bounty or a bust is it precious metal or just rust well it seems it’s up to us so wish us luckI kept making a U-turn ended up with a sunburn but the lesson that I learned was worth the skin that peeledI climbed so many mountains it’s not even worth counting all the drinks in the fountain before it was revealed From the copper to the kettle the stamen to the petal we watch the value of sand dollars crumble

You really can't go wrong with any of their albums. My least favorite album is probably Uplifter, but I still like it. They have 11 studio albums, 2 EPS (comes with ETSD and ETSD2 DVDS), a greatest hits, a live album, and then there is Omaha Sessions (available for download from 311's official website). Then there is Unity, Hydroponic, Dammit, and Downstairs. Those are the albums they released, themselves, before they landed a record deal. They are extremely hard to come by.
@atwoodn339 жыл бұрын
so happy another has joined the 311 family. Stereolithic is an amazing album, with amazing lyrics, that resonates so well with the collective consciousness that is starting to take place. I first saw 311 in '95 in San Diego and was hooked from then on for life. Buy and listen and enjoy the heck out of this new album. Then, if you feel so inclined. check out some older stuff on KZfaq. My personal favorite is Transistor, but each and every album offers something new and unique. Welcome, and enjoy!

Well done gentlemen. I've been a long-time 311 fan since back to the Grassroots days. As a teen, 311 not only made me strive to become a better bass player (thank you P-Nut), but have also helped mold me to become the man I am today. 311 taught me to be positive and to live life with humility because there's too much suffering in the world to become a part of that problem. I love the "anti-consumerism" message not only in this song/video, but throughout the Stereolithic album as a whole. IMO 311, Tool and (believe it or not) Counting Crows are the only bands who succeeded in the 90's and still pump out amazing albums to this day that are bred from their unconditional love of the music itself. A lot of other bands in the 90's should have actually listened to the lyrics to "Come Original" back then. Now they're 11 albums in and not one was a flop! Def the greatest band from my generation and I'm so thankful for the many parts they played in my forming my teenage persona.
