Believe it or not cardboard is like some sort of insulator or something. I remember a few months ago when I worked at some concession stands at Northwestern and it was super cold one of the adults told us to layer the floor with cardboard (for a reason I cannot recall) and it worked a bit, our feet were less cold. This might just be able to work for those who either can't afford slippers or are trapped inside due to the weather

In Japan and most Asian countries you can’t enter some homes without slippers and bathrooms have separate pairs so this is some kind of a very useful ugly hack hope this helped 😊
