Yep, I think a lot of people misinterpreted that. Just curious why this change wasnt in 300 instead of 320? Most people wouldnt think to look there, especially if it applies to all cable wiring methods.

This is the only video of yours I can find which speaks of armored cable. I want to suggest you do a video clarifying the NEC status of pre-1959 (?) armored cable which does NOT have an integral bonding wire in the armor. For brevity, let's call that wire type AC-O for "old" AC. NEC gives clear rules for even older knob and tube wiring, but leaves AC-O in limbo. NEC 2023 definition of "Type AC" includes AC-O ("A fabricated assembly of insulated conductors in a flexible interlocked metallic armor."), though that definition is so broad it includes some kinds of MC and other wire types as well, so the definition cannot determine the scope of Article 320 which gives rules for AC wiring. Article 320.100 EXcludes AC-O by requiring type AC wire to have an integral bonding wire. On the one hand, AC-O is closest to modern AC so common sense says 320 applies, but on the other hand, AC-O is significnantly different than modern AC because the armor is (today) never recognized as an EGC, even if 320 is followed: 320 has assumptions which are not met by AC-O. The forums just have flame wars on this topic; it would be great to have your view.

What about areas of the attic where the ceiling/roof sheeting or framing is very low due to pitch of the roof? Ie. Where is to low to WALK on the cable?

The rumor bird has it Tennessee's adopting the 2023 code are you going to be teaching any classes in the state in the near future?

1929 knob & tube attic, if you touch the cable the insulation falls off. Until recently new wiring had to be pulled through metal conduit. Now NM cable is ok. More concerned about protecting loom and old rubber and cloth insulated wire. The attic is not a place for amateurs. It is fire safe, but not idiot safe.
