God Has Chosen
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand.
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ.
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2).
The majority of the Protestant Church held to this doctrine during the Reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace!

Thank you for uploading this message, Brother Jim. When Father drew me to himself, I'll never forget how it was Matthew chapter 7, verses 28 and 29 that pierced my heart and brought me to the knowledge of who Jesus Christ actually is. I read those verses at the end of the first seven chapters of the book of Matthew and said out loud to myself in a low and terror struck voice "Because He is God." I had gone from years of being an angry and mocking atheist, to a year or so of experimentation with the New Age, to KNOWING in that moment that Jesus Christ was no mere prophet, teacher, philosopher or good man. He was and is God! Never a man spake like this man indeed. Indeed his doctrine is astonishing! There's nothing else like it! Incredibly demanding, righteous and perfect! God, the Word, become flesh and commanding my obedience to an absolutely astonishing doctrine. Pastor Jim, it cut me to pieces. It destroyed me. I knew I was in BIG trouble as I was a guilty and wicked sinner who had committed countless sins and was utterly doomed. HELL BOUND and worthy of splitting it wide open for how wretched and evil and wicked and blasphemous I had been. I was a terrible sinner. I LOVED my sin and did evil deeds in action and in my mind perpetually. I deserved no mercy whatsoever. I remember jumping in my car and weeping and looking up at the sky and saying "I am nothing, Lord Jesus. I am worse that worthless and I need mercy. Please forgive me!!!" I was an emotional train wreck and knew that if God did not forgive me He was going to cast me into Hell. It took me about 3 years or so before I discovered the amazing comfort of predestination through an online sermon and could put to rest my fears of being saved, then lost, saved, then lost, constantly worried I'd lose my salvation or die in sin. Now it seems silly to me when I think back on how anyone, including myself, could ever fall for the "just accept Christ and make a decision for Him" sinner's prayer routine. NO! Man is DEAD and needs to be born again! He can't do that for himself any more than a corpse can dig a ditch to bury itself at a graveside service during a funeral. DEAD! Man needs the Giver of life, God Himself to rebirth him spiritually or he will never ever, under any circumstances, desire or come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father in Heaven, LORD of all, for having mercy on me. Forever yours, not because of anything good in me or because of any wisdom on my part, but because of your electing love, mercy and grace. Thurman
