The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

@@MrJoosebawkz In action games, you raise whatever amount is going to be called. Sometimes in these games, 20x open will get called. So why wouldn't you do it with value? If you are opening 2 or 3x because its typically standard and there are fish willing to call 20x, the bad play would actually be you.

They're on a live stream, so the producers can talk directly to the dealer without having to use speakers and thus getting put on the stream's audio. They can get drinks/food ordered, more chips brought to the table, etc without having to make phone calls. Plus, if someone is being too rowdy or breaking a rule on stream, they can let the dealer know to say something.

The assumption that your opponent will run it twice gives an enormous edge to semi bluffing just like in this hand. Gives you a strong chance to take the pot down on the turn, putting your opponent to the test. Calling off with a marginal holding is harder than semi bluffing with a marginal holding. Running it twice reduces variance but it definitely has a set of advantages for aggressive poker.
@aqn1976
@aqn1976 3 ай бұрын
Totally agreed!!! I am so surprised not many more comments are made on this exact point and that is why I always run it once (unless that 1-2%% super rare case it is a crazy amount of money in a pot) for the simple fact that if my opponent knows I am ok with running it twice then they would feel more confident in shoving with a marginal hand knowing that they can either win the pot with the possible fold equity, but if not, then they have a much better chance of splitting the pot because as we witness so often SCOOPING on a 2x runout is much rarer than chopping!!! Again, I understand the variance but I am very surprised no channels, vloggers, poker forum or chatrooms have ever broached this topic!?!?!?

@An00bisY00tubis
@An00bisY00tubis 3 ай бұрын
@@slowery43 Nothing to do with math, all to do with game theory. By knowing you can “run it twice”, you have the advantage of playing aggressively with draws, as you know that variance decreases, you are now able to split the pot which you otherwise couldn’t do. It does mean that calling off with marginal holdings also gives you that “buffer”, but it’s definitely more slanted towards the person making plays than the one calling off.

These pot sizes are almost as as big as the coasters they use as chips. Is there a monopoly money aspect to all this poker streaming where they're playing for 100x or 1000x the actual buy-in? It certainly seems like there's a lot of side angles to this poker streaming business.

Honestly running it twice or more , might as well have wild cards while you're at it. Seriously, all odds charts change significantly, frankly it's the participation trophy of poker. Winning chips is the name of the game on one board period point blank. 🧐

I love poker but when people are so loud with the chips; I’m done. Why the hell does everyone need to throw chips around? It’s Louder than the people talking. I actually don’t play with my chips at all even after 8 hours; it’s a tell. When someone is loud with chips; I all in most of the time when opponents play with chips. I get that this is all just for fun channel. But I did stop watching this channel few months ago; it’s a bunch of reckless plays and loud people with a lot of money at stake.
