Shows what an HMW V2.1X roots SC14 based setup does, running only at 3PSI. The V2.1X is capable of up to 9PSI with an air to air intercooler. This brilliantly clean 328i build was completed by John Truman in the UK. Other notable mods include M50 Manifold and a Custom Remap.

Looks and sounds great! Since I fully restored my non M3 328i, I just might supercharge it instead of buying an M3.

Great car and progress with superchargers you made here just keep going strong 💪 i imagine that setup is good for 270-300hp correct me if i am wrong and thank you one more timr for all advices you gave me ✌️

Always welcome my friend, yes that one is for that much. We have often times seen 280-300rwhp from the sc14, all depending on the tune and motor 2.5 - 3l. :) Take care!

Is it possible to run more than 9psi. If so what would you have to upgrade from the kit to make it sustainable? I know arp studs and a hg are really all the engine itself needs.

To increase the boost All i need to do is to have a smaller pulley? I know that means bigger injectors, tune etc. But I'm asking on how to make more boost from the sc14 And the 3psi came from the stock pulley?

Guys I’m in the U.K. too and wondered how much would this kit be please for a 1996 328i ? It’s an Auto so would this still work ? I’m only looking for a bit more power as I never plan on selling the car but after 5 years ownership it feels a little slow now . Thanks

If you can find one cheap enough,. The Eaton M90 from the Jaguar XJR-6 is ideal for Supercharging 2.8 Litre engines and are a hell of a lot easier to find and service than a Toyota SC14. And not much chance of rebuilding one. Even Toyota use Magnuson for their TRD Charger kits. The Jag Eaton M90 is also the near same as what was on the Aston Martin DB7's and runs 10 psi with a 3" snout and a 7.5" Crank Pulley. 3 lobe, Teflon coated rotors and you can unbolt the intake and cutlet separately. The shortest snout of the M90 range too.

have you been able to put it on a dyno? what are intake air temps like? if it makes any power at 3lbs id be suprised but if I could run this at around 6-7 without running an intercooler or meth id do it.

Oh Yes we have the dyno sheet, will be on the blog likely. So at 3PSI we saw a 39% Gain. Here are the numbers - Engine Power - 230HP @5800RPM Engine Torque - 244 LB/FT @ 3100RPM RWHP - 200RWHP (Stock is 155RWHP) With an intercooler and HMW 80mm Pulley you will see around 6.5PSI. I have personally run this setup at 12PSI on an Automatic Car in the past with a 65mm pulley.

Hyde Motor Works that’s awesome for a little charger! Think this would be good on an m52 with arp head studs and a head gasket? Also how much boost can you run on this until IAT’s are too high and you need an intercooler

We suggest 6- 7 psi intercooled and a good tune will put you about 300whp.. its a decent sized blower..max we seen is 360whp or 400 at crank on an built s52.

@@BJ-fk9sq Automatic trans will hold upto 9-10PSI with a good tune but no more.

This setup now runs 7PSI. 3 PSi is for starters to check if all is running right with no leaks and all.

You can, but without a proper tune you wont make good power and car wont run right.

@@otacon4065 No, Its making 20 - 30 at the wheels from 2-3 PSI, thats 50HP at the crank, (15-20% HP loss from crank to wheels as you can see in the dyno) The more boost you have with a better tune keeping the efficiencies in mind, the more power you make, these V2 kits are designed for 6-9PSI max. So thats around a good 70-100HP at the wheels which is some 120-150HP at the crank+...

@@HydeMotorWorks yeah my point was 200 whp is what 255ish at the crank yeah? so an m50'ed 328 mapped is proven for around 220-236 at the crank. so this is around 20bhp more at the chosen 3 psi usage in this video. I'm well aware the kits are usually 6-9psi with a charged 328i

@@otacon4065 Well, most of us outside usa like uk, eu, nz often seen a lot less. This car seemed to have 155 rwhp with an m50 manifold, cai, and a tune. With the sc at 3psi that was 200rwhp.. so.. not really 30hp gain on top.

Sorry but 328 with m50 manifold and a good tuning is like 210hp easy so 230-210=20hp gain which is 10% gain

Well if you mean 210hp at crank or the wheels? As the dyno shows before its 150ish at the wheels which is about 190-200 at the crank, with 3 psi thats 200whp..or some 250ish at the crank from 3PSI. I dont see how the 328i with a m50 manifold make 210whp? we already had such a discussion in this videos comment section if you look down.

No, 193HP at Engine means 150-160 at wheels. Why? because 15 - 20% power is always lost in your drive train on any car or similar. Power at the engine, will never be the power at the wheels. Here we talk wheel HP or WHP
