Shoes gather dirt while walking so please make sure to wipe them before storing and sprinkle inner with baking soda to kill bad smell. You don't want to have #smelly feet because of fungus growth inside.your shoe/ storage.

Too hard or heavy to peek inside and/or lift lid to view under cloudy/barely-see-thru plastic material and colored lids. (Only good for permanent shoe storage IF shoebox punctured with breathing holes and shoes or boots cleaned & wrapped to prevent mildewing during the season.) The much newer SIDE-END OPENING SEE-THRU, CLEAR VIEW SHOEBOX design is wholeheartedly BY FAR AN EXTREMELY BETTER IDEA THAN PAST SHOEBOXES! Even a 3-to-5 shelf BOOKCASE works when you ADD/ATTACH either 1- extra shelf inside existing shelves (flat shoes) - or - add 2 - extra shelves inside for (higher sole step-in shoes). My mom is a hoarder she only wears 10 different pairs of shoes. My dad my sister and I only have about 5-10 pairs each yet we have 4 large shoe storage things, 6 small shoe storage stuff and with all of these filled. We still have about 20 pairs of shoes scattered on the floor totaling well over 100. She only wears about 10 pairs of shoes. She needs to see this to help her decide It’s so hard to get her to get rid of shoes without putting up a fight and throwing away one of our stuff which is stuff we actually use. And because we can’t get rid of these shoes, our only option to making our house decent, is getting like 3 10 feet tall shoe storage. That way we can have something that can match and get rid of these unmatching shoe storage in our house

Shoes get dirty so the ottoman will contain the filth and smell-shoes need to be aired out and cleaned. I clean the shoe and boot soles inside and out and shine them before putting them away for the season. I use boot trays in the winter, and store work boots, hiking shoes in the basement on shoe racks. I slide winter or summer shoes I am not using for the season, in shoe bags so they dont get dusty after cleaning them and store them in shoe racks in my hall closet. I have used over the door shoe pockets and it works well but it may ruin your door frame or door upon closing so test it out first. The best ideas are the built in wooden shoe shelves, but they are expensive to install. I never keep street shoes in my bedroom, they are downstairs and shoes come off in the house and we wear slippers and socks around the house. Keep a mirror in the hall to check your shoes/boots with your outfit before you leave.

The shoe tray idea is interesting for me. I'd rather have something I slide under the bed. I could see the cardboard box if I lay them down. Maybe the sho bags or baskets could be an option

I don't have sooo many shoe. Only 4 pairs. 1 daily use, 1 high heels for casual and formal function, 1 grand design for weddings and receptions and 1 sport shoe. Need to buy a pair of slippers to wear to market, beach and dirty places.

I went to dollar tree and bought those collapsible bins to store my flip flops. They have many colors and styles . I own over 50 pairs of dressy flip flops and in sure it will be way better than storing in the big bag I have then in. I hate for the dirt from my shoes to rub on other shoes. The problem with most of these ideas is that it leaves your shoes exposed to a lot of dust which is not what I'm looking for. Also shoes look ugly when you've been wearing them and when they're dirty you don't want to hang them all over the place and it looks nasty.
