When I was 47 I was dating a 21 year old guy and before I knew it he wanted to get married... I thought about it and I said no because I felt it wasn't fair to him. He took it very hard but he finally got on with his life and I'm happy for him. I've been with my wife for 43 years. Some thought it would not work, not because of age, but because we are of different races. I have been to Tunisia and there were many middle aged mothers with much younger men. Some of them were grandmothers with teenaged husbands. The Tunisian men are only after visas, passports and money. I would be surprised if the Tunisian man in this documentary is any different. There are also many cases of foreign wives being mistreated in Tunisia when they marry a Tunisian man and move over there. I had a Tunisian man who wanted to marry me and he said if I visited him I would be locked away in my own room at his house. We never had a relationship but he tried to chat me up online. I think love is always great and I'm happy for anyone who's in a healthy relationship, but I think that it's a bit sad that they will miss out on getting to go through those early milestones together as a team. I am ignorant, of course, because I haven't been through life yet, and maybe there are still a lot of milestones that they can both experience for the first time together that I am not thinking about. My husband and I are only at the beginning as we are about to begin the immigration process, then get our first apartment (both of us have always lived at home,) etc etc. and it's the greatest joy in my life and my reason to wake up because I know my husband and I are in this together and we are sharing all of our firsts.

I met my husband when I was 20 and he 39. I never planned to be with someone so much older than me and was not attracted older men. I know that 39 is not old but it meant 19 years od gap between us, I did not jump head on but I knew he was my other half. That was 19 years ago and today we are as strong as ever, have 2 beautiful boys and I would choose him over and over again. Love is blind but it is important to make sure that the pros and cons are measured and decisions are taken ready to face possible consequences on the long term.
