Sometimes lower energy bullets will penatrate further. The more energy the bullet has the faster it will deconstruct itself. Depending on construction of course.

Very nice penetration test of 338 lapua Magnum rifle, indian army snipers also use 338 lapua.

No surprises the Tungsten core won but still interesting to compare to the rest. I actually guessed the Tungsten would get through 12 and the others between 8-10

I been wanting a 338 lapua haven't bought one because factory ammo is so expensive need to get all the equipment to start handloading first.

That was interesting, we were just talking about the tungsten .338 rounds last night. I just got my fifth Zombie head in today. I will be up at the range doing some different shots with them if you want to stop by. I thought the tungsten would travel farther.

around 0.882 inches of penetration for anyone wondering not including the gaps and deviation of the shots if you count the 15th sheet it wouldve been around 0.945 inches

Perhaps Tungsten core with solid Brass jacket would be the best performer. The Lead around the Tungsten core seems to be getting used up as it pass through each plate. The Brass probably would last a bit longer providing the mass needed for the Tungsten to continue on further.
