Love watching you Liz. I have a tip for you. When you are painting, pick up a couple of paint stirers at the paint store. Dip the stick in the paint, to cover about 6". On the side with no writing, write the brand of paint, the name and the number of the paint. If the company discontinues the paint, they have machines now that can reproduce the paint from a chip. This is much better. This is great if you have a lot of rooms with different color walls, or furniture. This has been a life saver for me.

As soon as I open my paint I pour it in the gallon mayonnaise plastic container. Then I use the can to paint out of so it gets completely empty. You can easily use a paint stick in the mayonnaise jar. I also use plastic peanut butter containers for smaller portions of paint. I get a funnel from dollar tree and use it just to pour paint. I always label my paint jars and say what room in my house it was used for or where it was used. I don’t have any metal cans in my storage just plastic jars. Then you don’t have rust in your paint. Paint will last forever.

Just remember paint color changes when exposed to the sun. That's why paint comes in an opaque metal or plastic container.

Just take the metal paint container, after using the paint and maybe pouring paint back into it, and put the lid back on it. Then turn it once upside down and back. Done. You can now use the paint forever.

A tip for removing sticky label glue is to use eucalyptus oil on a cotton ball. An old school teacher’s trick! We used to use it to remove sticky stuff like craft glue etc from desks and other surfaces. Wipe over with a damp cloth afterwards. Thank you for your tips 🙏❤️ New subscriber from Australia 🇦🇺🦘🐨

I have all my paint stored in mason jars with the name and # of paint as well as room it belongs to. It really works and saves expensive paint. I also read that when you start to do touch up paint to a wall use a small amount of the paint in a separate container and add a little water. And feather out edges. This makes it match wall better.

We used that bread bag hack growing up! It works and keeps the bread perfectly fresh unless your family doesn’t go through much bread at all. My hands are super weak and tricky these days (long story but suffice it to say we all need to take care of our livers and research EVERY prescription a doc gives us!), so I use the OXO Good Grips bag cinch thingies on bags now. I even transfer some zip-bag-packaged items into bags with free edges so I can use the cinchers because my hands can’t handle most zip seal bags anymore. I love the cinchers and give them as gifts. Liz, you can use a big drill bit or even a small hole saw depending on the size of your tree’s trunk to put a perfect hole in the center of the mossy foam. You can also patch the white spots with a little pack of moss from a hobby store. My son has some of the packets of loose moss for his dioramas and trainscapes. It seems expensive for one packet ($6 or more for like a gram or something😳) but one packet lasts a bajillion years for patching in floral arrangements and the like. Make sure you get the one that you don’t use with the static machine (the name escapes me ATM). I use mason jars for paint storage. I use the metal lid inside a plastic mason cap. The inner metal lid with gasket seals it airtight and the plastic cap doesn’t rust like the old fashioned rings. Before I use water, I try a hair dryer on a label because water usually makes everything messier when removing the labels. I warm up a corner and get to peeling, applying more heat as I go. Any residue can be cleaned up with either lemon essential oil or acetone. That denture tablet trick can work on some toilet rings, as well. It may take more than one tablet at a time. A lot of old wood bowls at thrift stores have icky stain or varnish on them but a quick application of citrus based solvent will remove that. Alternatively, super fine steel wool and denatured alcohol (Walmart sells both) will strip it back to a beautiful wood tone in just a few minutes. Wear gloves, protect your workspace, and work in a well-ventilated area. Very good tips and a lot of inspiration! 😘

I don't see why that miss was backed by white styrofoam when they do make green. Sometimes you can lift the plant out of it's original container and just push it back through adding a little glue. I actually use pine cones, they keep the tree centered, upright in place and cover the base, I also use then in real potted trees because they look better than dirt and they're free, lol. I like your blow dryer tip, I was using goo gone but then you've got to clean up the oily residue. Carburator cleaner spray works best but it's not for every surface. I also like your citrus oil idea, I'll have to try it, any brand suggestions! I'm not sure if I should look in the furniture polish isle or what- As for toilet bowl residue, I find that The Works from dollar tree is effective. And I also found a pack of bleach tablets from a dollar store- I forgot which- that worked incredibly well when left overnight, but I've yet to see them again, maybe the denture tablets will have the same effect. I also saw a paint hack where a rubber band was strung across the can to rest brush, capture excess paint and stop outside drips but the mason jar lid is great!

@@donnalawrence8593 it's old but I'd forgotten about it, I'm so glad she featured it. And I know it's silly but the excess plastic at the end of the loaf bothers me, lol, it always finds a way to melt into the toaster and the hack takes care of that too.

Liz you can remove labels: I saw this on KZfaq: fill jar with hot water let sit, remove which ones you can. If there is any leftover make a paste of hot water and baking soda and it takes it right off. Baking soda you always have around. Also dental cleaner in water is good for retainers and mouth guards. This was a tip from dental office.

Great hacks Liz! Lots of new ideas to try. As a nurse who always carries tape in my pocket for bandages & other things, I learned years ago to simply fold under the end to make a little tab to grab.... works great & no paper clip needed. I do it on those sticky lint remover rollers, too. Just fold up over a small part of the end to also make a tab you can grab easily when you're ready to pull off the next layer.

The denture tablets are also great for removing the stains from drink mixes in the 2-quart slim refrigerator dispensers. Getting down inside the container or into the hollowed-out handle is impossible. The paper clip on the tape is one I have used for years. I don't fight it over the tape, I simply press the paper clip onto the sticky side of the tape and then press it against the rest of the roll. To remove labels from plastic or glass jars more easily, fill the jar with hot water. Wait until the glue softens and the paper label lifts off in one piece.

Great collaboration of hacks you've shared past and present. The scented oil on a cotton ball placed in your trash can is a good one. The terracotta pots and green planter turned out great. I would paint the lamp black. The tan color is a shade off where it's styled. 2x hacks to add: place the heat of a blower to the jar labels and it comes right off. Also candle jars, you can recycle them by putting it in the freezer. Once the remaining wax hardens it will come right off ♻️ 👍🏼

I recently discovered on Amazon some really nice bamboo holders for all the kitchen wraps. The foil absolutely needs a serrated edge, (despite the sliding ones claiming they work on foil) but I did manage to find one with a serrated edge. The other holders have a plastic tab that slides across to cut either plastic wrap, wax paper, or parchment. These are very attractive, adorable, can be hung on a wall, inside a cabinet, or just placed in a drawer. I absolutely love this find!

Yes, I did know about the foil box. That feature is also on other boxes for plastic wrap, parchment paper, wax paper, etc. @18:33, if you don't have a cap with holes, you can criss cross scotch tape to create your own holes with any vase to achieve the same results. This idea is especially useful when you don't really have enough of your arrangement, it just spreads it out better. @25:00, I just fold the end of the tape. It's especially good for the clear tape that's difficult to see the end. My favorite hacks in this video is framing fabric as decor, gluing the magnet at the base of the hammer, framing the QR Code, storing lemons in water with a wired-tight lid, and placing an essential oil soaked cotton ball for household trash cans. Thank you!!

Love watching you, all the way from Australia 🇦🇺 Another way to get rid of sticky residue from labels is either DD Eucalyptus oil or WD 40.

These are all practical hacks. Some things are familiar but most of them are new. Must try indeed. 🙌🙌

I use petroleum jelly to break down old stickies, I rub it on the label let it sit and sometimes a straight edge or putty knife will help scrape it off, or a scrounge, and rub some dawn on that after, and wash in warm water or even witch hazel or Windex to break up the petroleum jelly residue.

Lemon EO or peanut butter are both great natural ways to get labels off. Just put it on and let it soak in. Peels right off!

Removing the glue residue behind labels. If you don’t mind chemicals, spray WD-40 and let it sit on a regular paper towel should takeoff most of it if not all very quickly but let it soak. Even better but a little bit more expensive is essential oils orange oil. So if you have that around or you don’t like to use the chemicals just put a couple drops of that on rub it all over the label area with your finger and let it soak and it also should wipe right off with paper towels

You can also spray pledge (or cheaper brand) on what is left after removing labels. Just rub in and wipe off then rinse with hot water. It has always worked for me!

Hey Liz label removal hack for ya. Skip the nail polish Remover. Take your pickle jar, wine bote, whatever jar needs the label removed. Put the jar in your kitchen sink with the lid off. Boil water on your stove. Once the water boils, slowly pour it in to the jar in your sink being very careful of course. The boiling g water releases the labels usually in o e piece with little to no residue

The hack about taking off labels, here's my hack. First wash it after soaking a bit. Use the steel wool. The sticky bit leftover, I put a thick coating of coconut oil over it, then wash again, steel wool used. That has always worked. Never had to wash a second time after coating with the coconut oil. And everyone should keep coconut oil around. You can cook with it. Use it to moisturize your skin. I put it on my cats head before i spray her with flea spray. Fleas flee from coconut oil, and it keeps me from having to spray her head. And you can use it as a healthy furniture polish. I have antiques and dont want the questionable chemicals from pledge. And i dont always have lemon oil around. Coconut oil is good for everything
