I still remember staying up all night collecting dark elixers just to buy the barbarian king and when i was able to buy it..oh boy let me tell you it was the most happiest day of my life.... Every time i open up coc i would just stare at the king thinking how cool it was.... Damn those were the dayz

the 10k king was even harder to get because the only way to get dark elixir in th7 was by attacking

In those days, the player who had the max P.E.K.K.A. or dragon or bowler used to be the god of the clan

I remember when you could access all your barracks separately and train different troops in them all so you could have a few barbs in your first barracks and then train giants in your second and they train at the same time

I came back to this game just a week ago after 8 long years, took a while to recover my then near maxed th10, cuz at that time th10 was the maxed townhall. The most striking thing i noticed was that the troops dont take elixir or dark elixir to cook them. In our time trophy pushing was impossible since we often used to run out of elixir or dark elixir so couldnt train troops. We had to farm using Barch or goblins to train a single army but then u lose trophies. And now loots are overflowing. Its funny to see that Infernos and xbows still gets exhausted and stops working after a time in fact in our times we had to spend actual dark elixir to fuel the infernos and xbows.

It's been almost 7 years since the last time I played clash of clans and when I saw my classmates playing the game, I too wanted to play the game again and yeah, I've never felt like being under the rock before. The most surprising thing about me is that there's no longer global chat. I can still remember the global chats filled with people sending invites in the chat, different people from different countries talking with each other. Hell, even mocking with each other if ever they got themselves in a clan war.

You missed 1 big thing here. Troops / spells used to cost gold and elixir/ dark elixir to train them . Which costs a hell lot. And needed much much loot . But now, it doesnt take any. This is a huge huge change

I started playing in 2012 but I was kinda young at the time and didn't fully understand the elements of the game. Been on and off the game over the last ten years and the biggest difference is how easy the games gotten, so much opportunity for loot and no/low costs eveywhere. Honestly miss the dark elixir grind, I was so good at tunneling for it

Dude I remember the hardcore dark elixir grind, and I especially remember the double damage tesla, to the point I thought that was still a thing today, didn't realize they changed it

back in the day like in 2014/15 it took me like 2 whole years just to get to town hall 9 and the max town hall back then used to be 10 lol now it took me 2 years to get to a mid level th12 from the start which is insane considering the grind from 9 till 12

I remember x-bow and inferno tower were also needed to rearm. Edited-I also removed the stone😭😭😭

Here is the bonus one.. there were 4 barracks and if you upgrade one barrack then you are not be able to train army from it.. you have to train your army from other barrack which might be lower at level... Really annoying... Coz we have to upgrade all the barrack at same level to use the troop after upgrading one of them...💁

Started playing clash of clan when i just got into high-school (late 2013- beginning 2014 ish). I remember 90% of these features, also remembered how difficult it was to max out and go to the next TH. Returned fully 4 months ago, made a 2nd account and it's so easy now to go to the next TH.

Th's were all outside because it was giving 12 hour shield to defender but causes only 1000 loot loss so all townhalls were outside and attacker was getting %100 of its league bonus. Basically you deploy your heroes or couple of archers and you get 200k loot from league bonus and for trade of this, defender was getting 12 hour shield I think this was the best feature. I'm very sad that it removed...

you know youre getting old when you remember all of these old feature and especially the lightning dark elixir start

I am still Playing this game,,i STOPPED in 2018,(Th12 released) but...in 2022 i started again .. ONE THING TO SAY ,. Its not making the same feeling which we had in 2015,16,17... 🙂 TH8 WALLS WERE 500000 PRICE RATE,,AND IT WAS LIKE AS SAME AS TH10,11 NOW.... 🙂 GOOD OLD DAYS 🙂🗿

you didn't only had to re-arm the traps but x-bows aswell with elixir and i always ran out of elixir wich made me wait for my pumps so i could train my overly expensive army🤣 the struggle was real back then. also i was flexing to my friends with my lv. 5 king🤣🤣🤣

I remember the re arm traps option, it really was annoying, and ice wizards too. I remember the sell building too. I remember the snow too. I also remember my th taking 1 month to upgrade. I miss those days when resources were very rare. nowadays, mu cc and storage is full of the gold and elixer.

Back in 2016 when I started playing it was comparatively very boring and upgrades were pretty slow and Th9 was the max base but now they have made it soo fast that one can jump from one Th to another with the help of medals and magic items way more quickly. I think they should slow it down a little coz many people who have started playing quite recently 3-4yrs ago only are having bases equivalent to me😅 & that makes me jealous😂

Back in the day.. We use to find clan and friends in global chat but now. Not anymore and its been so hard to join level 10 clan and up if your townhall level is low

When I started to play for the first time it was on my base i kept it as long as th5 but after that I decided to design a new base and removed it 🥲. Ahh! I remember that I was constantly scared that someone would attack me just before I could afford an upgrade…. Nowadays it’s too easy to farm in my opinion. I have constantly full dark elixir storages. I think you loose to little resources when being attacked. Paired with the short troop training time and not a total loss of the shield when attacking….

I remember how hard it was to make your troops if you didn't have elixir considering that you could only collect them, and how hard it was to upgrade your hero

Just 1 thing that supercell did well now from early days is "we don't need to spend elixir or dark elixir to train troops, brew spells".😌 Other than that, they made most of the changes unnecessarily (really miss those early days) 😢

I remember when they changed the models for the archer queen and barbarian king, they used to be lower quality, also back then the area which heros protected was much bigger, the circle was like half of the base

Just started playing clash of clans again. Mainly because I felt nostalgic over Backyard Monsters… I lost my base due to supercell removing the Gamecenter sync…. So I started over and so far I’m having lot of fun. Feels like I’m 14 again… which was 10 years ago….

We used to leave our town halls outside the base in a corner. This tempted other players to take your town hall and not your loot. Back in the day this was a good tactic for farming lots of loot for expensive and take forever upgrades. 😂

I remember when I hide my elixirs by training troops in the barrack then just cancelling it up when I wake up the next morning and talking to people on global chat while I wait for my troops to cook

Army training different, individual barracks need to train troops. Quick train option did not have, global chat was there. I really hope they will add global chat again its really nice because we could find new players for our clans.

I was one of those guys spent hours and hours using lightning spells on that dark elixir storage just to have enough to get the archer queen. I originally rushed from th7 to tho because i wanted the archer queen. I remember those days when it was more fun to farm

you also need to manually reload inferno and x-bow, you also need to click every barrack and spell factory one by one to train troops

At that time it took so much time to train the pekka and dragons and the amount of exiler i wasted for training them. I need to find a base that has double amount of my training cost. By chance if the attack is unsuccessful the waiting time and elixer will all go to waste.

i remember all the gem hacks, those were the glory days😂😂 I was also very happy to log back on and see that everything is a lot less time to upgrade. The week long upgrades made me stop playing
