November 15, 2013 - It's a totally lazy day in Night Vale. Feeling really tired. Increasingly tired. Here's some news, I guess: updates on the Summer Reading Program, the Brown Stone Spire, and a delicious new cereal on the market. Just so lazy. Everything slowing down.

i love the concept of him being the only one who cares about all the weird shit going on. So he's frantically working towards saving everyone while all the citizens of nightvale are just nonchalantly accepting whatever terrible things occur and being pleasantly surprised when they dont all die because carlos stopped it.

@@sophienah4654 i heard the teory in wich night vale is a sci-fi show , kinda like "gravity falls" and we are supposed to see it from carlos prospective since he is the protagonist , that would explain why he does the first move on cecil , why he always saves the day , why he almost dies in the first year finale ecc. ecc. anyway if they are to commit the atrocius crime that would be making a TV or netflix series out of night vale , they should at least make it from carlos POV , this was my TED talk

I think Carlos was so "industrious" today because since he's not from night vale, everything that happens has an opposite effect on him or no effect at all. I also think that whatever has kept Cecil alive all these years partially protects Carlos because if Carlos was hurt or died Cecil would quite literally cease functioning.

Ooh, that's really interesting! Like at first, whatever's is keeping Cecil alive thinks Carlos is a distraction, but then after Carlos almost died and Cecil flips out, it's just like "oh, that can't happen!" So it isn't sort of keeps him from getting into too much trouble. Sweet!

Honestly, I don't think anything is protecting Cecil. He was just lucky enough to live. And for Carlos... I think the citizens of Night Vale have some sort of curse on themselves. But because Carlos was born in somewhere else it doesn't effect him as much as everyone else

I have this head cannon that the third eye takes over when Cecil can't. Like if he falls asleep driving or is in mortal peril, the third eye takes over for Cecil. I think that Cecil was just asleep throughout this broadcast and the third eye was open because Cecil is obligated to do the broadcast no matter what and Cecil just literally could not today.

It''s because a third eye represents omniscience. People imagine him with one to consider the fact that he may see all, which helps him to report everything on the radio as it happens. It's just a theory and absolutely nothing has hinted to it or said it in the actual podcasts.

where did the idea of the third eyes come from?? it seems that everybody knows what the characters look like, and all the different variations seem quite consistent considering we've literally never been given a visual description of Cecil or Carlos or anyone really

The idea of the third eye came from the fans, and though many accept the idea and depict Cecil as such, it's not actually canon. Some of the characters have been given some description, including Carlos, but a lot of it is up in the air.

Pokegeek151 but like in The Sandstorm episode there was the one guy from desert bluffs (I've forgotten his name sorry) and he was like really gung-ho and like all the comments were about how scary he was (i hadn't gotten to the part where Cecil describes the studio) and i was just thinking about what a cinnamon roll he was so i googled fan art and they all depicted him with like the really wide Cheshire mouths and claws and just things like that like where did the shared knowledge come from

BooksMusicAndSarcasm Well, based on the descriptions we actually get, certain characteristics come through, such as Kevin's eyes and, from one of the live shows, his sinister smile. As fan art comes out following those descriptions, people like what they see and make their own art with similar characteristics, and then it spreads. And if you Google any of the characters, you see a lot of these similar characteristics, which makes new fans think it might be cannon, even when it isn't necessarily, such as with Cecil's "third eye".

Y'know what this one reminded me of? Junji Ito. The entire town is stricken with a crippling affliction, and its people just barely take notice. When it grows so severe that it spreads to the very sun itself, the very nature of the invisible force prevents anyone from taking action against it. The only thing missing is everybody dying at the end.

I love how during the first episodes Cecil was like "perfect Carlos" and here he's like "perfectly inperfect Carlos". Becouse he realising that Carlos isn't perfect, but he acepts that, and that makes Cecil love him even more. I seriusly love their relationship.

I don't know about anyone else, but I hit this level of lethargy and laziness at aboouut... 80 degrees Fahrenheit. 85 if there's a stiff breeze. ...I just don't function in heat.

There's a giant radio station pillar outside my house (not right outside but still visible) and It has a red flashing light so whenever I see it I'm like WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE and all my friends think I'm crazy (maybe I am and nobody knows) so yeah the end You can stop reading now No really I DEMAND YOU CAST YOUR EYES AWAY FROM THIS SCREEN Fine... Wait, how did Cecil know what the mayor did if nobody attended the press conference? Does he really have a supernatural power that lets him see around Nightvale even without someone handing him a note? Not to mention, A Story About You, and A Story About Them, where he dictates just as it happens, and somehow knows the thoughts of the people in A Story About Them o-O

News people on night vale TVs can have conversations with the person watching. Also some people say that Cecil has an all-seeing eye. Not to mention the fact that there are hidden cameras and microphones in every house and people just ignore them.
