Big cats are the ultimate hunting and fightnig machines, topped out by the tiger. That's also why wild dogs and wolfes can only stand a chance in packs. Amazing how different the attitude of the tiger and the lioness is. The tiger just goes from sleepin directly into killing-mode, and the lioness just wants to defend the dog away.

It depends on the species. An adult male timber wolf would destroy most smaller big cats like leopards, snow leopards etc, but would get ripped apart by a tiger, lion or a Jaguar.

Dingoes are house dogs gone feral, only these have gone feral thousands of years ago. There are many feral house dogs that breed with dingoes, creating hybrids, and even these have no problem surviving in the wild

wait, why would you assume that? Looked like a pier for a small fishing boat, dogs in many countries are still majority wild animals or stray. There's not much you can really do in a situation like this, if you do not have the tools and a rope in this instances, and the chance that the dogs will understand how you can help them with these tools are also a longshot. So your "best" option is to walk down and try to carry the dogs up. I wonder how many times you would die doing that if we ran the simulation 100 times.

The loose skin will sometimes save them from the initial bite. Also, being solitary animals, leopards are risk averse. If the hunt turns into a fight, they're likely to abandon it, and find some other prey.

People underestimate the big power that come from leopards and jaguars because they're pretty small talking about their Pitbull or Rottweiler can take on these wild animals...a Kangal couldn't take on a tiger by itself without help and they're tall and massive. Most (if not all) of the sleeping dogs being attacked, were caught on security camera. In the other cases... Remember, guard dogs have to sleep where they're supposed to guard. That tends to be outdoors. In many countries, wild animals live close to humans, and therefore dogs. These countries also tend to have feral dog populations. Such encounters will happen, without anyone planning it, and people and cameras will often be around. I know I wouldn't fight a leopard to save a dog, and I can't blame anyone else for not doing so. I probably wouldn't film it, either, but I don't find it strange that some would. I'm sure you'd step in and do the fisticuffs with the leopard, though. Good luck with that.

I personally don’t have a problem with something that is going to happen on its own in the wild . Wild dog populations can be controlled and using dogs to kill cats is wrong. It’s people setting this shit up for a video that is disgusting. Also of course a 200 lb cat is gonna eat a 70 lb stray dog . And there isn’t a Dog alive that is gonna be able to defeat a full grown male lion or Tiger but there are breeds large enough to take out a Leppard if it’s trained to kill
