This was held in Maryland I believe, interesting watching that rx7 "the world's fastest stock chassis" walk all over the place, he could barely lay down a good pass! Tough to hook and book when you are fighting the track too! U tube is awesome.......

Yes, turbo350s and turbo400s have three gears, whereas a powerglide has 2. This particular car, as is stated in the video, has a turbo400. When making 1/8th mile passes it seems he has the car setup to shit only once, into second gear. When he makes his low 6 1/4 mile pass, you'll notice he shifts twice.

When they launch, it's from a regulated RPM. When they are doing their "burnout" they have all 8000+rpms to work with.

The point i was trying to drive home was the fact that when they launch its on the torque converter at, let's say, 3000rpm.

If it ran a 4:20 in the 1/8th that's like saying this 3500hp car only runs 7's in the quarter. Further more if it ran 196mph in the 1/8th. Then it would run 350mph in the 1/4. That's rare for 10,000hp dragsters... So yes this is the 1/4 mile time.

That's awful low MPH for a 4.20 in a 1/4.....you know last time I checked as of Feb 2015 Larry Larson S-10 was the worlds fastest with a 5.95 @244mph...one of us is lying....I'm just saying
