The Orkney Islands have been inhabited for at least 8500 years. Neolithic remains include "The Ring of Brodgar" which predates Stonehenge. We delighted in a tour of the picturesque towns of Stromness and Kirkwall. We visited St. Magnus Cathedral, dedicated to the martyred St. Magnus, built by Norsemen during the 12th century and Kirkwall's Museum containing 5000 years of history.
