(365) ACRYLIC POURING - RING and RIBBON Pour - Randomly Chosen Colors! FUN!

I knew what type of pour I wanted to do today, but didn't know what colors, so I decided to challenge myself and randomly choose colors with my eyes closed! I've done it before with varying degrees of success, but this may be my favorite so far. I got lucky with the colors, and I promise you, my eyes were closed! Color and recipe details are listed below, as always.

Colors were all DecoArt Americana Premium paints: Carbon Black, Cobalt Blue Hue, Phthalo Yellow Green, Hansa Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Hue and Quinacridone Magenta. All these were mixed 1 part paint to three parts of the following pouring medium:
Pouring Medium (Dan Hodges' Recipe):
3 Parts Floetrol
3 Parts Minwax Polycrylic
2 Parts Glue/Water Mix (3:1)

The suruprise colors turned out great! Yes, I was thinking, "Stop!", at one point. (busted). Absolutely beautiful, my friend!! Very bright and beautiful with the 3-D ribbons. 💖

This is really bright and beautiful Chris! My husband was walking past and exclaimed how fantastic this was and said "You should do a painting like this Sue, with those colours!" I was a bit offended as I'd done a ring and ribbon after watching you once, that I thought was very cool, and he didn't like it at all! 😯 Just goes to show that you are the master of this pour! I so love a whimsical piece. This is great. Everything is so vivid. And, because the background is oriented to the diagonal, the ribbons really have a sense of depth and dimension.

You picked great colours! Glad you decided on the black. It's so beautiful!! I love those paints every time you use them. We can't get the larger ones in Canada at Michaels. I'll have to look around to see where I can find them, they are so vibrant and I love that your pouring medium keeps them so crisp! Love your lines too. 🤩

@@ChrisJeszeck well, as I have already commented I have a way to go haha, mine couldn't have turned out more different 🤔, but I'm sure it was my paint consistency. I poured a fair bit off and it's quite unique? I couldn't do again if I tried but it is striking???thank you as you're better than you think if my mistakes look this good for a change haha 👍🇭🇲

What brand of paint could I use instead of decoart ? I don’t think the ones you are using are metallics ?

Liquitex Basics are very similar in quality to these paints...no metallics used here!

Can I use polyurethane instead of polyacrylic? I have everything else

I don't know the chemical makeup of polyurethane, but Polycrylic is a water based, clear sealant. I'm happy with the Polycrylic...no need try anything else, so I can't say with any authority!
