What pulls the Aberdeen portion these days? Last time I did it from Aberdeen it was hauled by a class 40 to Edinburgh, then a Deltic to Kings Cross....

Must’ve been a while ago, class 73 solo but occasionally a class 66 drops on or another 73.

Why were they coming fron King's Cross? I thought the sleepers went to/from Euston.

Rare diversion for when Euston is closed.

They do normally however if diversions they will use London Kings Cross.

I was in a bed from Kings Cross to Edinburgh, then transferred to a seat and enjoyed the first 37 on the Aberdeen sleeper since 2008. No sleeping cars were part of the train.

The 37 was trialed on the sleeper to make sure gbrf could make use of it in an emergency, hope this helps.

Pretty much, 37403 did the sleeper again in july.
