Aaron's face when he saw Gordon - it just filled with fear. The fact that fear was his first initial reaction as opposed to the anger or hate told me everything I needed to know - Aaron was terrified of his dad and now that we know what happened when he was younger it all makes sense. In that moment when Gordon stepped out of the taxi, Aaron looked like a vulnerable and frightened child. He seemed to shrink a little with fear and you just knew something wasn't right about Gordon's presence and the effect he had on Aaron. Danny Miller was incredible.

I think Aaron has a legitimate reason for lashing out, and not even because of Gordon's abandonment because it's strange that Gordon LITERALLY has the answer to all his problems and he refuses to take it, like not even to 1'up Robert? that's huge to me considering he's the sole reason for his frustration until this point. I think we're gonna find out more about their relationship that we didn't know and it's gonna be horrible. I just hope Aaron will be able to pick up the pieces or Robert will be there to help him. I hate seeing Aaron hurting.

I know that Aaron can be really immature and hot-headed at times but there's also a lot that Diane and the others don't know about his relationship with Gordon before coming to Emmerdale. Rather than assume he's just lashing out like a petulant kid, they should respect his decision and not trivialize his feelings when they're still in the dark. The fact that he immediately said no to the answer to his problems, i.e. the money, should tell them that whatever their issues are, they're huge enough for him not to even be tempted. The minute Gordon appeared, I knew he was shady. They're all going to wish they'd left well enough alone when they find out the truth. Getting involved with Ross again, tho... Come on, Aaron. Be smarter than that.

@kristineandersen6762 8 жыл бұрын
+michael7572 yep. Just wait, it'll only get worse. The continuity issue is just a sign that they have re-written Gordon to fit this storyline. It's probably gonna turn out that he abused him or something.
@mieberggaard
@mieberggaard 8 жыл бұрын
+michael7572 He did leave, though. I just rewatched Aaron's first appearance and he did leave after hitting Sandra, before he was arrested. Gordon told Chas that he had left a few days ago and they hadn't seen him since. He'd obviously spent some days sleeping on the streets before he was arrested and reunited with Chas. So before Gordon kicked Aaron out for good, Aaron had run away for a few days.
@michaelnyny
@michaelnyny 8 жыл бұрын
Mie SB That's all true. It's also true that Aaron was waiting for them to cool off and he intended on going back. Gordon wouldn't have had him. His arrest muddied those waters.

See the thing I don't get is why Gordon came back to Emmerdale. He got away with it, if he had not show up Aaron would of never tell anyone about him being abuse. I also notice he decide to visit after Dianna mention that Aaron was gay. Was he going to try it on again or was it to rub Aaron face in the fact that he get away.The sad and fearful thing about this storyline is it not just a storyline in a tv soap but its some people life.I hope if that see this they have the courage to tell someone they trust and if they do I hope they have the support and love Aaron got when he finally come clean.

Only Aaron would just have gotten out of jail and then goes to commit a crime just because he can not handle his emotion. His mother is coming out soon and instead of thinking about her he has a hissy fit like he usually does. How many times does he have to do criminal activities with ROSS before he realizes that it is stupid and ROSS has no problem letting him take the fall for the crime they commit. ROSS has done it before when he shot Robert and now Aaron the idiot is walking straight into trouble. I wonder who he will call when he gets arrested and ends up in jail. hmmmm will he call DADDY or Robert. If Diane really does sell I honestly hope that she sells it to Gordon so that he can give it to Aaron or Chaz. I think that Gordon needs to have a chat with Paddy, maybe he will be able to help and give him some insight on Aaron... #Aaron-needs-some-happiness

you'd think by now Aarons character would have matured in situations like this. Unfortunately its the same every time. He gets flustered and upset about the past, runs away from the doing the right thing to find a horrible alternative. It does appeal to his "bad boy" image but seriously does nothing for his growth.
@danfrost3043
@danfrost3043 8 жыл бұрын
+Al Ray ........Couldn't agree more. I'm actually starting to dislike Aaron. His character is getting boring......Something goes wrong , can't handle it , turns to crime and someone always gets hurt. We've been down this road time and time again and its now BORING. He's a grown man for god's sake. Its like the scriptwriters are trying to make us all feel sorry for him when in fact he is nothing more than a small-time violent thug.
@alishlalani2751
@alishlalani2751 8 жыл бұрын
+Al Ray I agree with you. Aaron has been put into multiple situations like this and each time he chooses something he will later regret. There is no character development.
@pekoepraisebot
@pekoepraisebot 8 жыл бұрын
+Dan Frost no offence but could you not sense the underlying tension between aaron and his dad? There's quite obviously something darker going on there. Just look at his face and listen to his voice when he says "Not him" when paddy says people change. Aaron isn't a violent thug. He's a majorly depressed man with deep rooted abandonment issues whose self harm hasn't been treated properly. You may not read spoilers and obviously I won't post them but you should really read them to understand why Aaron is acting the way he is.
@danfrost3043
@danfrost3043 8 жыл бұрын
+Taylor Far ....... Many people have gone through the same thing as him, but they deal with it and make decent live's for themselves, he hasn't learned, grown or developed from any of it, he's just a ticking timebomb. He is unstable and until he gets the absolute professional help he obviously needs, the scriptwriters are gonna keep milking his character for all its worth. The've turned him into a very one-dimensional character, you can almost predict what expression or look is coming next, very predictable & as I said earlier, it's getting boring. Basically he needs to Grow Up.
@pekoepraisebot
@pekoepraisebot 8 жыл бұрын
+Dan Frost lmao are you serious?? Look at Aaron 5/6 years ago then look at him now. He's grown and learned so much. I'm not saying he's a perfect angel and violence is never the answer. But he very clearly has an untreated mental illness. Aaron is Emmerdales grief character and they put him through the most traumatic experiences. Like I said if you read the spoilers you'll maybe understand??? There's way more to this story. Gordon has a terrible effect on Aaron. He shouldn't have done what he did but don't act as if it's just him being violent. There's always a reason.

So Mr. Unwelcome Dad offers Aaron enough money to buy Diane's half of the pub, supposedly with no strings attached, but Aaron would rather commit some crime with Ross to get the money. I don't know what Aaron should do, but I wish he'd put some rational thought into this and not just run on his emotions.
@michaelnyny
@michaelnyny 8 жыл бұрын
+alwaysuseless A lot of bad blood. If it were me and if I hated my dad that much I'd simply take the money and take advantage of him in that way...snub him afterwards. But if Aaron did that we wouldn't have what obviously is the next storyline for him, getting caught and back in jail. My guess is Chas will be too fragile to bail him out but this time Gordon will, unlike in 2008 when he abandoned Aaron in jail.
@alwaysuseless
@alwaysuseless 8 жыл бұрын
michael7572 That sounds like a likely scenario. Gordon can bail Aaron out, but can he prevent him from being sent down? Frankly, at this point the relationship between Gordon & Aaron doesn't interest me.

Aaron would not have continued to act this way if was really disinterested. He remembers something, good or bad, and is conflicted. Gordon has missed 7 years of Aaron's life, 7 hard years. If Gordon really wants his son's understanding, he'll have a lot of catching up to do. I do have an inkling that Gordon buys Diane's share of the pub.
@alwaysuseless
@alwaysuseless 8 жыл бұрын
+Timothy Wade Gordon could buy Diane's share and then offer to turn it over to Aaron. I wonder whom Diane would prefer to sell to: Gordon or Robert? (I suspect that Robert would be willing to match or even outbid any offer from Gordon.)
@michaelnyny
@michaelnyny 8 жыл бұрын
+alwaysuseless For Chas' sake I don't think Diane will sell it to Robert. She'll sell it to Gordon if that's how it turns out.
@alwaysuseless
@alwaysuseless 8 жыл бұрын
michael7572 Gordon is Chas' ex, who abandoned her & Aaron, right? Would Chas prefer to be business partners with Gordon or Robert? Probably Gordon, because he's trying to make amends and supposedly would be buying Diane's share with no strings attached. However, Robert is part of Diane's extended family, and Gordon is not.
@michaelnyny
@michaelnyny 8 жыл бұрын
+alwaysuseless Gordon didn't abandon Chas though. In one scene in 2008 she says that she and Gordon were fighting all the time and they knew they had to split. She thought Aaron would be better off with Gordon than with her. As much as Aaron (Danny Webb Aaron) wanted no part of Chas it was really because he felt abandoned by her, and so he bonded with Gordon. Gordon tossed Aaron out when he decked Sandra, which he did because he started feeling abandoned by Gordon after the baby was born. This is actually all very realistic abandonment issues when it happens within a family. I've seen it in mine. It's not realistic to say that he's old enough to know better.
@alwaysuseless
@alwaysuseless 8 жыл бұрын
michael7572 Thanks for the history. I didn't know some impostor had been playing Aaron. (kididing) Just to be clear, I'll replace your pronouns with names: Gordon tossed Aaron out when Aaron decked Sandra, which Aaron did because Aaron started feeling abandoned by Gordon after the baby was born.

Biljana Ć. Of course he doesn´t. He´s manipulative. But that was not the point. You said Robert might bring Aaron´s sanity back. I just said he didn´t contribute at all in the past, more like he played with it when convenient. That´s really low. I´m sure you won´t complain when they show Robert behaving like an amoral white collar criminal AGAIN :) Difference is, that´s what I´m asking, changes for Aaron, starting with Robert, it´s been a whole year and ended in disaster for Aaron, it was good drama let´s move on. While you prefer this to keep going so that Robert can reunite with Aaron again and start the circle again. Because Robert is how he is, and he never changes either :(

You know what I don't get, is why everyone seems to think that just because someone is ill, that it makes them a good person or deserving of some form of forgiveness for the pain they caused other. I mean, illness does not erase the bad things you've done in life or changed who you are deep down. So you are about to die. Everyone dies. It's a fact of life. It's what you did in life that counts, the type of person you were when you didn't have the threat of death hanging over your head that gets you sympathy. These people don't even know Aaron's father, but they treat him like he deserves something from Aaron just because he's been ill. Yeah, I feel bad for the good people that get ill and are suffering, but for people like Gordon, yeah don't really care. I know that's cold but I can't feel sympathy for a man that sexually and mentally abused his own son for years. And even if I didn't know that he had done that, I'm not going to force a kid, that obviously has some bad history with his father, to listen to him. I don't know the circumstances behind their relationship. And it is really obvious here that Aaron has some real issues with him. Even without knowing what those issues are it is written all over him that there is something bad between them.

Is anyone else getting a little tired of this same routine with Aaron. He mad, he angry, he hurt. Come on dude grow the hell up. Yes I am aware that everyone thinks he has abandonment issue. Well so has the next guy who got over it and move on with life without have to make one bad decision. And I wish everyone would stop thinking that if Aaron and Robert got together there love would solve everything. Everyone in the village need to stop treating Aaron like he is a 14 year old. And Paddy does him more harm then good by always getting him out of trouble. Someone needs to tell Aaron to shut up and grown up. Why should Aaron be any happier then anyone else. Name me 5 things that Aaron has done to win everyone's loyalty. If you all would just stop thinking in terms of Romeo and Juliet you would see Aaron as the self center ass that he is. (Just a reminder I am speaking of Aaron as a Character and not Danny Miller who I think plays Aaron so well.)

+Tom Ray I do see where you're coming from, but I also think there's a lot more than meets the eye about Aaron's inner turmoil. There's definitely something about Aaron and Gordon's past that we don't know about yet, and rumor has it that it is "incerdibly dark", so I'm not gonna judge Aaron's behavior until I know exactly what he is going through. It's definitely a lot more than just your basic abandonment issues.

+Mie SB Thanks for the comment. I have been hearing the same thing about Aaron and Gordon. I am very happy that I will get a chance to maybe understand Aaron a little better. I do hope that 2016 brings a least a little happiness to his life.

you'd think by now Aarons character would have matured in situations like this. Unfortunately its the same every time. He gets flustered and upset about the past, runs away from the doing the right thing to find a horrible alternative. It does appeal to his "bad boy" image but seriously does nothing for his growth.
