A couple people wanted a video from outside the machine so here you are! This is the very last of the bench, I'm cutting my way backwards off the slope which is why I'm on a bit of an angle.

C is the model generation (A, B, C, D etc) and the L stands for the Long carriage option (there is a long and short set of tracks available). Powerstripe is just a paint and decal scheme they changed to in the later build years. Black cylinders and hand rails and the orange stripe by the model number.

Pulling the last piece of bench and loading trucks, what does it look like?
@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@harryps3 Just you, they lined up with the bucket first then turned under bucket to get square with slope and get as close as possible without lifting one side of the truck up.

You should have seen our WAM job last year. We had over 100 pieces on one site. 2x 385s, 850, 375 and a 345 plus trucks, 657s, a fleet of 651s, a fleet of 631s, plus D10s all over the place, 3x 16H graders, a couple water buffs and packers etc.

Great job man, I love all your videos so far. I've always wondered what kind of weird or odd things do you guys find in all that dirt. What's the strangest thing you've ever dug up?

It's around somewhere, I agree those MEs look like tanks.
@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@HomebrewCigarsmoker Well I've done 45 centimeters of cut coring streets while loading these trucks. The trucks show up on site paired with the hoe and you do whatever needs to be done with them. The trucks were driving on the bench then it was to be dozed but when it was time to do it the dozer wasn't available. I sat on angle to get my bucket on a lean so I could pull a nice slope without having to swing 180 to the trucks, does that help?

The first truck seems to be struggling a bit in the mud. Rely like to Se the work you are doing in your vids because some are a lot different from the methods used here. And the comments lol we Work in allot steeper angels some times. Keep them coming ;)
@vantagetes14 жыл бұрын
@anewbeggining21 Well since you ideally want to 3 or 4 pass a truck a larger class excavator would be better, but we mix trucks a lot (769s ant 740s) so the 385 works great for us.
@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@dozerman8114 Try reading the description mate. The only other way to reach the truck and the dirt is to make the truck fly or drive it backwards up the slope.

We have a street/cub/sidewalk crew that has a couple 613 paddleboat scrapers if that counts =p Or our 320CR with a wrist for cutting the liner key in the ponds. Other than that we have one 330 and one 350 JD, everything else is big.

@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@arielleneful Why yes, I am a real operator. Part of that is knowing where the machines center of gravity is. With the travel motors up hill, the boom and stick, plus weight of full bucket the only direction that machine could tip is up the slope. That is unless I went to full boom up and stopped rapidly. You can roll a machine on flat ground if you don't understand it's limits. No danger here!
@JimBruce4215 жыл бұрын
lol, the machine is spotless minus the windows i guess Great work man... too bad you had to give it up.

It would have taken a lot of time to level. Fixing the bench, and keeping the trucks waiting. I mean, if you can load like that then it's all fine! Don't listen to those "armchair operators". Been watching your videos, you seem to be a pretty good operator.

@vantagetes14 жыл бұрын
Just don't boom up and stop quickly, (watch where you transfer your momentum) and keep your bucket low. No real issues. If you watch again I have hung my idlers over the edge so when the weight comes back I have a large surface area on the track to hold it. When I reach forward that's when the machine tips, but all the weight is forward so it's ok.
@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@dozerman8114 That your an armchair operator? Congrats you know everything.
@vantagetes15 жыл бұрын
Well there ARE a couple little dings because when we float the machine the counterweight comes off and has to go paint down on the truck =/ You'll see in my next video.

@harryps312 жыл бұрын
@vantagetes Wouldn't it be better if they could just turn then swing it back in one motion instead of going left then right then left. Like at 4:12 you have to move the bucket to compensate for the truck not lining up right.
@harryps313 жыл бұрын
Is it me or do the truck drivers not line up with the bucket that well? Left then right then left.....

@vantagetes11 жыл бұрын
No that just means that the engine got more fuel then it could burn. This happens when an engine is at low RPM and then loads up or accelerates. The fuel will increase first and then the turbo (powered by exhaust pressure) spins up forcing more air into the intake allowing the engine to burn clean again.
@powellvalley11 жыл бұрын

@vantagetes13 жыл бұрын
@HomebrewCigarsmoker Such as? You are making too many assumptions. I probably already debated over everything you can tell me on how I could load out this dirt in the video. You don't know why I'm digging the way I am, you don't know how much cut there is or where. You don't even know why I'm moving the dirt in the first place! I'll leave you with two things. First, if you think you have a better way to do it, leave a comment. Second if you think you can do it better..make a vid. I'll watch it!

Are you even watching the right video? Lots of dirt touching the shiny thing on the front, no dirt touching the shiny thing on the back. If you are referring to the mark that is courtesy of the mechanic and truck driver (not entirely sure which one) when they had it off the machine and on the ground ready for transportation. I usually help break down the machine and load it myself but I had to go to another job to replace someone when it happened.
