In Virginia, you can roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty w/a Fixer and Houses are available which are ready for move in. Either way, there are Many Houses available for way below the median sale prices.

I ❤ the home in Palmyra. It had vintage PURPLE CARPET AND PURPLE FORMICA COUNTERTOPS! Vintage leopard carpet. Very unique. Sold at auction for only 232k with Inground pool and 5 acres. Someone got a steal!!!! Not a bad location. And looked in good condition

Great job! I use Zillow more than Realtor because you can filter out auction properties.

I know the Castleton area. This is a high dollar area 💔sorry folks but that 25 acres and fixer sold at auction for 467k! Mold and all. Think that’s a lot? Well the Realtor app listed estimates of 994k -1.2 million for its value as of April 2024. Location, location, location. This is horse country and large acreage retreats for the Uber wealthy of DC. Most of the others she mentions are in deep SW Virginia (Appalachia) which may as well be in West VA or Kentucky etc The best places to live almost always are expensive for a reason

The one in Duffield VA for $37.9K ended up selling for 25K? It looks like it was right next to some real sketchy neighbors and most of the 5 acres was straight up the mountainside.
