Here are the facts from the video: If you watch the clip you see there was coat rack behind the door that he couldn't put the template on. So he tesalated around it. He should have used a laser or straight edge to approximate where the tessalation would have existed behind the coat rack if he was incapable of removing the coat rack to complete the pattern. But he was capable to remove the rack so the not enough room response was pointless. Secondly, I can safely assume that it was never changed after the clip, as he used paint to fill the spaces he drew. If his goal was to change it later why use a semi permanent fill to make the video. Thirdly I think overall he gets a C+ it was done well and looks good from a 30 second clip. He could have done better in the layout, however, the paint work and tessalation was done well enough.
