3D Pen - Super Mario Bros Tribute Hat (35 years!)

Super Mario Brothers is 35 years old in 2020! As a tribute to this amazing game, I combined using a 3D Pen with fabric to make this hat.
I was stunned when I first played this landmark game on an ‪@NintendoAmerica‬ Entertainment System - and the legacy of games it has spawned is unbelievable.
I have been testing out using a 3D Pen with fabric and this is the latest experiment. I hope you enjoy the result!

Cool idea and well done! It should be in a Mario museum. I majored in computer science, but never got into computer games - except while I was still in university. But the games then were text-based, like 'Turn Right'. 'Take three steps.' 'Pick up key.' It all had to be typed in. But it was loads of fun.

I honestly think it's a neat idea but the only thing I could see it being a problem if if you ever had to wash your hat hmmm 🤔 if there was a way the 3d pen art removable and wanted to add other things on to it that would be real cool. Awesome, job on Mario, Goomba, and Koopa Troopa though keep up the good work.

👍😎👍 Would you recommend TPU or soothing softer like ninjaflex please?

Ninjaflex is just a brand name- it is also TPU. I have only used Gizmo Dorks Flexible TPU, which is a little bit harder than Ninjaflex. The Gizmo Dorks TPU has worked fine for all the projects I have done with it so far.

@@PotentPrintables thank you, the reason I mentioned ninjaflex because it is softer, I had ago at printing a spidy logo on a t-shirt and it was OK but started to peel and that TPU was one that was a little harder, I experimented with different temps but the same thing happened so I thought it could be because it was to hard. (Nozzle was new and smooth and as close as I could get to the material (100% cotton). On reflection a cotton poly mix may work better). Your thoughts please 😊if that's OK.

Were they long, thin lines of TPU used to make the logo? I can see that having some issues sticking, if the TPU printer settings weren't perfect. I've found that flexible filament holds onto fabric better in larger patches (think rectangles or circles), not long thin lines.

@@PotentPrintables thank you, I run my printer slow when using TPU and I ran it a little hotter so that the TPU would bleed into the material better but I feel as though it could have been the material I was using because it didn't seem to hold anywhere, so I shall try a different material and get back to you( but only if it's not a problem )👍😎
