Give this a shot. In solar stirling mode: 1) replace bottom plate with glass. 2) Spray paint bottom of displacer/regenerator with black paint. The high surface area of displacer should heat the air inside faster and the glass should provide some insulation value. Forcing more of the heat to flow from hot side to cold plate.

Beautiful! I like the design. Especially, the displacer rod is not only guided in the sliding bearing. It is also guided near the fly wheel. That reduces friction by the side loads a lot! 👍

Very good your engine, especially for its operation with the heat of the sun, without the need for reflectors, congratulations! Leandro Wagner.

have you tried putting the entire assembly inside a white box while only leaving the black solar heat collector exposed? that might help keep the cool side a little cooler, increasing the temperature differential and potentially the rpms...

Tolle Konstruktion.

Bye bye
@7019838 жыл бұрын
Was deine Konstruktionsidee angeht: Würde zwar grundsätzlich funktionieren.

You need to generate electricity to store in batteries and then use that energy in part to control the direction and the reflectors to track the sun ..

what is missing ? what can it produce ?
@teslatrooper853 жыл бұрын
No, you don't. You just use solar cells for a heliostat. You don't don't even need solar cells, you can use thermal expansion of fluids for this.

Beautiful but no information on the mechanical power possible and solar efficiency as function of solar température ????
@kreynolds11234 жыл бұрын
Heres some idea. With about 800w of solar energy per sq meter on the ground, if a low temp differential stirling is say 5 efficent then you can produce 40 watts of mechanical power. If a higher temp differential is 20% efficent then you can produce 160 watts of mechanical power. If you have a dish with a collection area of 5 sq meters, thats 4kw of sunlight and if your stirling generator is say 25% efficient, then you can generate 1kw of mechanical power. Stirling engines are heat engines and all heat engines efficency is limited by their carnot efficiency. And that's a function of the temperature difference between the hot side and cold side, and the cold side dumps it heat mainly into air either directly or indirectly through heat exchangers. Those living by the ocean may dump the heat into ocean water. One can also increase the efficiency by increasing the heat on the hotside, so long as your not loosing much of it to convection air currents.

Vielen Dank.

Don't think they engeered electric generation in this one. But great idea that should be added. Changer for cellior or batteries would be good, upgrade..
@beaconofwierd18834 жыл бұрын
Kind of disappointed you did not hook it up to a motor and see what efficiency you actually get out of it. Not that I expect it to be much, would still be cool to see.
@konekoray93234 жыл бұрын
Low temperature displacement stirling engines like these are made to be balanced just right so they can run under their own power indefinitely, should you have an adequate source of temperature differentials. Say you put it on top of your radiator in the cold of winter. It should run nonstop for months. But to do so, it is all about minimizing friction and drag. Hook it up to any sort of motor, generator, or the like, and it would just stop.
@beaconofwierd18834 жыл бұрын
@@konekoray9323 It's just a matter of how small the motor is. Obviously the efficiency will be extremely small, but still fun to know what the the efficiency actually is :P Even if it's just 0.5% or something like that.

You could if you belt it to a generator but the power output is so abysmal that you need multiple to make it turn 😂 Well, solar is one way to put and it's more compact.

For scifi how about using Sand printers on the sahara dessert that self-assemble by printing presnel lenses out of sand and using the additional fresnel lenses to melt sand and then splitting the fresnel lenses in two when they are enough to split. Since the sand replicators grow exponentially in only 40 generations we will have a trillion of them. Whats the best way to convert the solar energy to storable energy? I was thinking they could build a stirling engine that uses the solar power, but if the 3D printers are on a beach they can use salt-water + sand-glass to create electricity, hmm. What would I need to do so that people would pay me to just think about and tinker with sand, mud, and ice 3D printers/replicators : (.

@alerey43633 жыл бұрын
of course it's not suitable for power generation nor usable torque; stirling engines are ultra lightweight both in terms of their mechanics and thus the power they can output; they are more like an attraction, capable of running from the heat of your hand, cup of tea, sunlight etc
