My twin brother and I have been in business for almost 2 weeks, beginning with a Neptune 4 Plus and a Bambu P1S. I have been a Mechanical Designer for 18 years and we launched with 2 products I designed and licensed with 2 outside designers for a total of 40 sellable prints. Our initial units sold to local retailers before we could get our LLC finalized. I am going to launch our Etsy portal tonight. I am gratified to see that the suggestions in this video were so similar to the way we got started. I still picked up some good pointers from it. Thank you for sharing your work, have a great day. And best of luck to the other entrepreneurs who are reading this.

@@SebastianTexas I started with the P1S due to the lower price tag. It prints just as fast as the Carbon with the same quality. In my opinion the only scenario to go with the X1C is if you plan to produce content from the time-lapse videos. The camera in the X1C is far superior to the P1S. The other difference, the LIDAR, is really helpful if you are monitoring 5 printers but hardly useful with just 1. It allows you to push print and walk away assured the printer will pause and alert you if you have an adhesion problem with the first layer. It sounds like a great idea but it turned out to be mostly a gimmick. One final note, the P1P is a less expensive option because it is missing the enclosure. Go with that if you only plan to print PLA. If you want to print with nylon or PETG, get the P1S and open or remove the top when printing PLA. Best of luck to you both.

Definitely the P1P or P1S. 2 Printers, a very sturdy workbench/shelf setup, 5-10 rolls of filament, some spare parts and miscellaneous maintenance items and you're good to go! Shipping supplies as well, but those are fairly cheap. You could even make it work with 1 printer but that isn't ideal

Found this and it really kicked me into gear to take my thought of starting a 3D printing company into motivation to make it reality. I won't hold it against you that you keep buying Bambu. They work when they work, like all others. I dipped in with Prusa and their print farm printing printers showed me they stand up. I also liked that it was easy to change out any part and sourcing my own if needed. Working on gathering ideas and making things in Fusion 360. I will be up there with you soon. I even found a company that I can source to handle any huge rush of sales until I can ramp of printers if needed. Or just handle the spike of sales.

Also another great starter 3D printer is the Elegoo Neptune 3 pro. Auto level and that thing just prints non-stop. No as fast as the P1P but definitely not as expensive either. The price trade off you get is really only about speed of the CoreXY design.

Great video. I tried to do this but it proved too much for me. Still, others will find some tidbits. The only thing I can add is if you are skilled enough to design your own, try branching into other avenues as well such as an illustrator/vector graphics. Once you learn that skill you can extrude the drawing for more models or art books, etc.

Anycubic kobra 2 neo (150-180$), anycubic pla filaments (black or white) and you don't need any setup. You can buy 5 of them and print. Slower if you consider only 1 but with 5 you are faster than 1 bamboo lab. First and only upgrade an enclosure, a cheap soft box one is more than enough

You are also assuming that Etsy will work out. I tried to open up an Etsy shop with some 3d printed desk accessories but I was immediately banned after opening the shop (seconds after going live), and when I tried to appeal I was permanently suspended. I never received a message for why the suspension happened in the first place, even though I made sure I followed all the guidelines and avoided any copyright issues.

Etsy is currently trying to work on something with brand new or long term shops being banned because of all the scammers that have hopped on in the recent months and they are working on some ai thing I think to help get rid of the accounts that are actusly scammers.

I think I’m gonna go for it and try my absolute best. I have the p1s with the ams, so I have the tools to do so. Quick question though. Would you say that functional products are the best to sell ?

If you can solve a problem with a functional print that is always a good idea. However it can pay to follow trends as well. Maybe a mix of both.

Thank you for the video. I have a question, I checked some of the products on the website you mentioned but I saw some stuff with Nintendo or Pokémon, is this license OK to sell this branded products? One example is a Mario cap or Goku. Thank you
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 3 ай бұрын
Not everything on that site is intended to be sold. Some people just create models for personal use so you'll have make sure you read the member benifits before signing up for any creators models. I do no recommend selling trademarked stuff like Pokemon or Nintendo. You may have a license from the 3d modeler who created it but I highly doubt that designer had a license from Nintendo or Pokemon to create his model in the first place. You'll notice all of our models are generic and not branded. These models you can sell without worry.

what do you think about the a1 from bamboo for lower entry or for quicker build out?
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 3 ай бұрын
It's a great option. There is a gap in speed though compared to the P1 printers which is why I give the edge to them.
@chrisroberts676
@chrisroberts676 4 ай бұрын
It doesn’t seem like the bambu has a large printing surface. Do you ever see that as an issue? I currently have an elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and am looking at adding a Neptune 4 max. Full disclosure though, I don’t understand the significance of the speed increase when most maximum print speeds are 90 mm/s. I’m very new though.
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 4 ай бұрын
Build plate can be a limiting thing depending on what you are looking to print and sell. I've found it to be tough to make decent margins selling large prints though. It can be done I'm sure I just like the stuff that prints in 1-4 hours. These types of items tend to not be large enough that printing surface comes into play. As far as speed, the Bambu prints anywhere from 2x-3x the speed of my old Creality or Prusa machines. I mostly use stock Bambu slicer settings and I'm at 200 mm/s for outer walls and 300 mm/s for inner walls. The quality is as good or better then those machines as well.

Would you recommend the P1P over the A1 combo which could do multi color prints
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 4 ай бұрын
If you wanted the multi color I would still want the P1P or the P1S over the A1. However it will be very depended on what you are printing. In a farm setting speed is a factor Below are the results of some tests I ran. Print 1: P1P - 1h 2m A1 - 1h 19m Print 2: P1P - 4h 18m A1 - 5h 12m Print 3: P1P - 9h 30m A1 - 11h 50m So if you are printing stuff in the hour or less range and only PLA I think the A1 is a great option. If you get into longer prints though the A1 can take a bit longer as the slower print time starts to compound the longer the print is. Both are honestly great options though.

@3dDesignBros

A lot of people run into this which is why a very common starting point is to subscribe to designers who sell commercial access to their models. It allows you to get your feet wet and if it works out maybe give more time to learning modeling so you can't design your own stuff.
