Once you have used the 3d probe you do not want to miss it again. Also the 3d probe screenset for UCCNC is very good .

Great video. Could one use this touch probe to “scan” an existing curved object and place the data back in vector pro?

I appreciate the tips. I ended up with a Laguna IQ Pro about a year ago (your Q-series was just being announced then, plus I wanted the ability to machine past the table bed a bit for vertical mounting of parts), and have to deal with a limiting hand-held controller. I don't know of a way to use something like this with a HHC. Any ideas? Your Q-series looks better and better every time I see something on it. I like the ISO30 tool holders (mine uses smaller ISO20 - not as hefty, but ok, I guess). Had to build my own stand, too - kind of a pain... Nice system you're putting together there!

I understand how the probe precisely zeroes the X/Y/Z surface of the material to mill, but once you remove the probe how does the controller know the length of the tool bit in the spindle?

The customer support was told me that I need drill 2mm hole into my spoil board and to adjust the 3 screws till probe be perfectly centered. They told me that I need home the toch probe to x and y axles. Can you tell me how to do it please? (How to add this point to UCCNC?)

This proves that my words are true. No one from Stevecraft spoke to me knows what the problem is about their failed device. Experience will prove this to everyone.

but this is not a standard spindle that uses a nut to tighten the bit... can you explain what's gong on? what loss gain of Z does this spindle system create? Don't be shy in explaining thoroughly... or point to some documentation that spells it out. t.y.

nice. you can do a complete tutorial with tool offsets. people come here from overpriced diy crap cnc and they should be educated in proper functioning machines of entry pro level.

For a future video, please consider one on the initial setup and maintenance of this tool, which is one of it's few drawbacks. I don't know how it's accomplished with this model as I have only used a Renishaw model in the past. People should be aware of the necessity of verifying that the stylus is within a few thousandths or less of being in line with the spindle axis and that this should be checked on a regular basis. There also should be some function within the control to lock out the ability of the spindle to start while the probe is in it. Very good video; concise, informative and to-the-point. You gained a sub today and I look forward to future offerings.
