@@ghostrider-be9ek so you are really talking about deck angle, not AoA. That’s not the same. Also, if you want to stay with AoA, for an aircraft having half the AoA is actually better than a higher AoA, which could get close to a stall. Anyway, no, for a 4 engine aircraft, the deck angle and climb rate, is normal. You cannot compare climb performance of a 4 engine aircraft versus a 2 engine aircraft. A B747 would be the same.
@ghostrider-be9ek
@ghostrider-be9ek 5 ай бұрын
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 LOL, climb performance of a high powered twin is somehow lacking vs an older quad jet - watching this video, you just completed your statement in buffoonery. What matters most is thrust/weight ratio, NOT the number of engines. Why do I have to explain the obvious? Yes, AoA and deck angle are different, but my point is the same, this is not a typical nose up attitude for a large commercial airliner - that the video clearly shows the aircraft struggling to gain altitude, and you think its 'normal' - again indicates a clear lack of the fundamentals.

I know. Plus that airport is at 2,000 feet altitude, and the air density at that height has a significant effect on the take-off run. The "smoke" in the cabin is just water vapor. Extremely normal. The smoke from the engine is unburned fuel, not actually smoke. Happens when the ignitors don't ignite the fuel immediately. Not abnormal at all. It is also quite normal in my experience to get a whiff of fuel when the airplane first switches from air provided by the auxiliary power unit (apu) to the main engines after they have started up. Newer planes like the 787 do not use engine bleed air for cabin air, so this won't happen.

Ah the A340-300, four hair dryers flying in close formation. The A340-300 reminds me of the good ole days of the DC-8-61/63 using up the entire runway and then having to circle the field so that the control tower could make sure there wasn't any part of a chainlink fence stuck in the landing before they retracted it.

So Air X is hiring pilots away from Aerosucre?
@fluchterschoen

We need to give Aerosucre a break. Campinas is at 2,000ft altitude and that has a significant effect on take off performance. Plus these aircraft are probably jammed full of bales of cocaine.

I was taking off from John Wayne Airport a few years ago and pilot came on the PA and said, " just to give you a heads up due to noise abatement rules for Newport Beach if you haven't taken off from this airport were going to take off full power and basically Pop A Wheelie and take off at full power back after we reach a couple Thousand feet." Was just funny he used "Pop A wheelie" analogy. I have flown out of SNA " John Wayne " a million times so i knew but thought it was funny.

1:40 this could be a "new" engine aka one that has just come from the factory/shop and it might still have the transport oil covering everything inside. idk if they spray a film of oil over the engines internals or if its just the oil they put in the bearings for transport of what but they smoke like hell on their first startup after being built/rebuilt and transported. EDIT its not FIRST startup, they test run engines before shipping them off to get installed, but they have to set them up for transport after they test them.

They should also test-run a new engine _after_ installing it on an aircraft, no?
@SirFloofy001
@SirFloofy001 5 ай бұрын
@@u2bear377 You know i think you might be right. Maybe they didn't run it long enough on that test to burn it all off? Or maybe something else is going on. At first i thought it was condensation from the air temp/humidity but that looks too smokey.
@johnt.4947
@johnt.4947 5 ай бұрын
@@u2bear377 Yes! When I was a jet engine mech in the Air Force (US), we always did a maintenance run after every engine installation. It would be crazy not to. You have to do a leak and ops check. I'm not sure what's going on in this video, bc I assume commercial acft would have the same rules. The smoke you see is from the oil being burnt from the fuel lines. If an engine is going to sit for any length of time, a light coating of oil is introduced through the engine's fuel system. This is to prevent any possibility of condensation (moisture) to accumulate within the fuel lines, and other engine components.

Assuming with no obstructions, at ground level you can see about 3 miles, that is one twenty-third of a degree, which is approx. 69 miles. So around the equator that is 360 degrees x 69 miles = 24,840 miles
