True story. We went spot lighting on a farm for deer. My mate was using a new hand held thermal. He reckoned he saw a pig. A bit over 100 metres away he reckoned. We set up. I turned on the spot light. We Couldnt see it. Turned off the spot light. Looked back through the thermal. My mate reckoned "nah nah its there" We turned the spot light back on... It was a bastard little hedgehog 30 metres away. We learned a lot about using a thermal in regards to depth perception and distance that night 😂 Greets from nz. (No hedge hogs were harmed)

Awesome stuff Stu, can't believe the size of some of those pigs in the opening clip. Great video! Also apparently wombat steaks are pretty good, obviously they're protected so we can't shoot them but if you just happened across a fresh dead one while you're out it wouldn't hurt to take a rump off, not that I've ever done it of course. Great video mate

Now that big boar had some tuskers. Lots of pigs down under to keep your great vids coming Stu. Question. Do you reload your own ammo? Stay safe mate.👍
@HuntingwithStu17 күн бұрын
Thanks mate yes I do reload the 30/06 and 30/30. However, I also buy factory ammo as well as I have a tendency to flick out the brass in the heat of the moment and can't find it.

Stu love your content mate! Got a question about the 350 legend. Would you recommend it? Pros and cons that you’ve found with it? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks mate and keep up the good work 👌🏼
@HuntingwithStu8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the ongoing support mate. The 350 Legend is a small cartridge with a pretty big projectile, 150 to 180grn. I am very impressed with it, however, I only use it at night and most shots are under 50m. I don't think it would go very well out past 150m though as the case is basically a 357 magnum so not a lot of powder to push a 150grn projectile very flat and far. However it is perfect for what I use it for and flattens the biggest boars.
