Same here..mine got totaled in Nov by a dd ... 06 silver megacab 6in lift. Nice big ranch hand bumper...😢😢😢...now I got a 05 long bed.

I really miss this feature...my 06 did this and it's really good sometimes since the fob and key are together..I got an 05 now and there's the old fashioned key with a separate fob..which I like even better.

I always turn my truck on and take my key out so I can lock it but sometime I forgot to put the key back in when I get to my destination I'm freaking out but usually have it in pocket 3rd gen 5.9 04.5

My second gen I can change the heater core from the top as the dashboard is a suggestion at this point. Dodge thinks of everything!

I use to do that too with my 01 durango 😂😂 especially when I was getting fuel. I leave my truck running grab my keys and lock my doors while my Durango is running 🤣🤣 glad I didn’t have to bring my spare

That shouldn't matter because the ignition is still in the on position, the key is just pulled out. I mean.. it shouldn't.. right? Lol My old Chevy used to do that and i could drive all day like that.

Mine did this until one day it didn't, easy to change while it still works, harder to change once it quits accepting the key.

My 04 Silverado does this too. I can keep it running with the door locked when I walk into a gas station in winter. I miss this feature.

In the late 70s ,we were taking my friends girlfriend home, we naturally never had gas so he gased it down a hill so we could Coast down the Hill about 60 miles a hour and shout the Ignition off panicked and was pulling on the steering wheel, it wouldn't unlock, we went up on the bank rolled the car over, Total the car Needless to say His sister wasn't happy it was her car.

My Toyota sr5 does the same thing. Believe it or not it actually became useful. I got done putting a new alternator in the truck and wanted to pull it out of the garage but my car was behind it so I just took the key kept the trucking running and moved my car.

Even tho your truck is brand new right off the line this broke ignition is not a new thang congrats it some how still running even with a chip in your key nice
