This is the scherzo movement of my Sonata No. 1 ("The Viennese"), which is the first of a series of solo guitar sonatas based on historical/regional styles. This sonata is subtitled "after Matiegjka" because it employs the general compositional language of the classical period guitarist and composer Wenzeslaus Matiegka. This movement is the most quote-based, drawing extensively on Matiegka's op.20 No. 10 Menuetto with my own alterations and additions.
