Hook believes in good form so playing games is not the way he would choose to go to win Emma. Hook knows that Neal broke Emma's heart and because he knows Emma so well he knows that she would have a hard time letting Neal back in especially since she admitted that she was hoping he was dead so she didn't have to deal with the pain it would cause opening up that wound again. I think Hook genuinely thought that Neal heard his confess and that Emma told him what happened between them. When Hook was in the cave he found out that Emma told Snow that she kissed Hook so it's a reasonable assumption that she would tell Neal too. Hook is a pirate but he has honor so I don't think he was playing games. Hook is self assured which is why he confidently told Emma that he would win her heart and he wouldn't use tricks to do it. This was a beautiful scene and I love watching CaptainSwan in action

I actually don't like Neil very much. He and Emma have no chemistry!! I loved the young Baelfire!! He was so cute.. Captain Swan is soo adorable!! Like Zelena said😉 I think Hook wanted to go with Emma and Neil because he didn't want Emma to be alone with Neil. I think he's afraid, that Emma would get back together with Neil...

I love hook, and I honestly hope he and emma end up together but I also see what he did here. purposefully laid claim to emma in a sneaky way. especially by using a term like dalliance and making it sound like he and emma have had this "thing" going on between them for a while, it pushes neil out of the picture. makes neil the third wheel. ah sneaky pirate. :)

Is anyone else really annoyed by Neal during this Neverland arc? It would be one thing that when he saw Emma in NY for him to break up with Tamara then/shortly after in a way “I still have feelings for this woman I never thought I’d see again but now I have”. But no, he stays engaged to her, immediately thinks Emma is just jealous when she was RIGHT about her , and then only after Tamara is unmasked as a bad guy, is he immediately all “Emma I love you, I will never stop fighting for you.” If Tamara wasn’t the bad guy/wasn’t revealed at the end of S3 of being a bad guy, he’d still be with her I think! It felt totally forced to me
