Topics are excellent but I would think it would be better when explaining about variable cost and fixed cost and the breakeven point was denoted by a graph...that way it gives us an idea at what time frame or units the break even is going to be achieved

I have a question (Margin of safety x contribution cost = profit ) Margin of safety is the profit u get after paying variable and fixed costs. Hence its the profit it self, so what are we multiplying it with contribution while we are suppose to minus the contribution as its a variable cost too. & how are we getting profit from this formula!

Good question. Margin of safety indicates the amount of sales that are above the break-even point. In other words, the margin of safety indicates the amount by which a company's sales could decrease before the company will become unprofitable. The formula shows the total number of sales above the breakeven point. In other words, the total number of sales that can be lost before the company loses money.
