@hiturbine Yep, a Brooklyn girl. Kix the a** behind the drums. I've seen her in the clinic before she's excellent. And she really brings the backbone to the band and drives the beat. The singer is excellent Shay on the basis.Great and very hot, I saw them in Daytona for Spring break and they just brought the house down. They were awesome. They all. Had a lot of big fans.

I cannot believe it's been 34 years since these gals rocked our socks off. RIP Jan K, you were one in a million. Janet Gardner got the killer voice, never misses a note. Roxy Petrucci, foxy, sassy and classy. Share Pedersen, the "master-blaster" on the bass. Rock-on, ladies. Love you all. The 80's were the absolute best. We had kick-ass music, powerful lyrics, and gifted musicians - who could actually sing and play an instrument.

I dont think this is live. I think its play-along with Janet having a hot mic for a few comments here and there. Its not their fault, its real common in these types of big shows like New Years to not be live in case something like a guitar amp takes a crap. The Production company mandates it, not the band. They have no choice. Love Vixen, they can certainly bring it live, but this isnt truly live....its play-along.

@@Bridging_the_Political_Divide Not sure why you're saying that. I've seen them live 3 times back then and it was absolutely 💯 live and sounded Great.

@@HyperInflation2020. Organizers of high profile events like New Years Eve are terrified of an equipment failure. Should her mic quit, Jans amp quit, etc, it would be disastrous on live tv in front of the world. This is typical...recorded track with the lead singer having a hot mic at a few agreed upon points in the song. Definitely a mostly recorded track. The production calls the shots....

@@HyperInflation2020. Many big productions are like this. Most guitar players doing the national anthem at sporting events are playing to a recording of them doing it beforehand. People think it's "live" but its not. Could you imagine if one of those tempermental vacuum tube amps quit in the middle of the national anthem with 50,000 in a stadium? It would be humiliating for all involved. Why risk it? They "play" to a recorded track of them playing it prior. Thats the biz, they dont want any "glitches" in very important moments. Its a business after all....

..BROKEN HEART....is a theme song of mine if there ever was one. I will always remember, 1989 MTV HIGE New Years Show.....VIxen and Winger I was SOOO happy, first time VIXEN was on tv and I was taping at home and my Mom was so excteid to. We ordred pizza and it just got there in time and we were having fun, I was blushing like crazy...My Mom came running in the lving room to watch as she loved them too....Edge of a Broken Heart, yup....we were bringing in the NEW (WORST) YEAR OF MY LIFE. I would not have my Mom in 11 months. SADLY, 8 years ago Jan's guitar was silenced forever from cancer. Jan was an amazing guitarist and even better person. Cancer took my Mom and Jan.

Good shout. They're both in my top 10 but for me Ann Wilson (Heart) is #1 female rock vocalist. She could do it all. I'd also give a shout to Nina Hagen, who could do wide-range Operatic singing and a bunch of styles like Death Metal growls, little girl voices and even reggae. But she made her mark as a punk rocker. Also, Joan Osborne, Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane/Starship), Janis Joplin, Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) and Lisa Dalbello, would be in the mix. Tons of brilliant female singers over the years...
