I live in South Africa where “Bantu” means people (in the Nguni languages) here so we didn’t call them that until American popular culture filtered into our social media etc. I grew up calling the Pom-poms or amabhola (the second term literally just means balls lol).. Your journey is lovely to watch

That’s interesting . I’ve always known them for Bantu knots because of Africans called them that. When showed that the women were married or something along that line.

The Bantu knots were known as Scary Spice hair when I was a kid 😂 my hair is a few inches shorter than yours but I feel like I could rock them and the bangs were adorable 🦄

i have officially been loc’d up for 10 weeks now. I’ve been feeling some insecurity because of the length and thinness but every time i watch you, you give me that energy boost of confidence and security in my locs! i love the loc empowerment lol so inspiring 🥲 and btw to transition from watching Alana and now you !!! OMG😭😭😭 thats so crazy my favorites i still watch her even though with my loc

Thanks boo! And I got them on Etsy but the vendor I used doesn’t seem to have them anymore and I haven’t been able to find the right size since with anyone 😭 hence why I have very few in right now (I can’t replace them as they fall out over time). If I find more that are the right size I’ll let y’all know in a video! ❤️

Pretty pretty! My fave was the 2 twists with the bangs 😍, can't wait til my hair thickens a bit and starts to actually loc. I'm only 5 weeks into my journey. And congrats Mr. West!

I never knew about Bantu knots until I had been natural for a little while. So maybe 2013 or 2014. I’m 20 now. I really like the Bantu knot style on you! 😍 I miss being able to do them when I didn’t have locs and I normally don’t like to use rubber bands but I might have to. I wanna do that style
