The owners paid an enormous amount for this breed of dog, thats fine BUT WHY dont they brush this dog daily, no wonder the undercoat stayed in there. You get a dog like this then its owners responsibility to groom daily,. Beautiful dogs, my neighbours got 2. Xxxxx

People need to stop criticising the owner. You don’t know their situation, they could be elderly, disabled etc. This amazing groomer said that they couldn’t get her to a groomer due to COVID so we should just compliment this groomer on her patience and dedication

Four hour groom. No muzzle needed. Newfs are the sweetest and most patient dogs imaginable.

Wow a 4 hour groom. This has to be the sweetest, and most gentle dog. And she has the most trusting little puppy dog eyes I've ever seen. I do think that maybe the groomer should've given her a longer break. Because that's a very long time for a groom.

Why do people have those type of dogs if they don't brush them?

We have a Newfie and he is 200 lb dog with lots of hair. Before Covid we were driving him for an hour to do his grooming bc nothing for his size was available around us. Once a month grooming $200-$300. And it took all day from 8am till 6pm. Plus driving. During Covid that place got closed and we just couldn’t do a good deep brushing. Luckily, they opened up again! I appreciate the groomers who groom our baby so so much!!! It’s a JOB! Thanks for the video.

Oh wow. I brush my newfoundland a few times a week because I hate the hair floaters in my house. It's insane to see this much hair come off at once. Even a few times a week I'm always shocked at the amount of fluff and that my boy isn't bald from all the hair that comes out. She is absolutely gorgeous.

You got to keep on top of Newfi grooming. Skin problems can flare up quickly , if you do a little grooming on a daily basis you can spot areas that could become a problem. You did a fantastic job on this beautiful girl.

She is such a gorgeous dog I love her fur, two tones and black and brown. I would still suggest to the owners to brush her daily between groomings just because it keeps her clean and comfortable and it helps the groomers out a lot if you keep up with the maintenance and it'll save your wallet some too

It’s so interesting to see how she’s darker now because the fur that used to be on top had been sun bleached. Also I had a little moment every time you said her name.

This stressed me out just watching this. She has all the patience as all. I hope she charged what all that work was worth.

I'm a mobile groomer and can I say how much I appreciate the time you took with this girl. I take approx 2 hrs per dog no matter what type but these fuzzy ones take extra special care to get out all that coat without causing pain. Many groomers will insist on shaving a dog like this which is just deadly for this kind of coat. Nice work

I remember when I was 12 I spent about 1,5 week at my aunt's house. She had 3 newfs at the time and brushing them was a neverending story xD

AWESOME JOB I have groomed a few newfies in my day and OMG they hold in fur, water and dirt. Why people don't just take a slicker brush to them once a day for 10 minutes is beyond me. This dog was so patient too, most of them are. I have 4 White Swiss Shepherds (Berger Blanc Suisse) and 1 Rough Collie and they ALL get brushed and combed twice a day (hydrobathed/blow dryed once to twice a month at least) (some are Service/Assistance Dogs, and in Training) You did a AWESOME JOB

Some tips, if you’re down, you can blow mostly all that coat & dander before the bath while dry, I usually point from under blowing up, rapidly left to right, forcing the hair up, once I don’t see coat flying anymore I put the double coat breed into the tub, shampoo in degrimer shampoo, rinse well, shed control shampoo, rinse well, shed control conditioner, blow the coat rapidly left to right, you’ll notice the undercoat coming to the tips of the strands of hair, I then rinse well, squeeze as much water as I can off, then do the same with a towel, then towel dry, then force dry until fluffed & line brush to finish before the groom. It sounds like a lot, but REALLY saves your wrist from all that before hand brushing, you’re basically just brushing the tiny bits of under coat that’s caught up in the tips of the coat.

All these dogs, it’s wonderful! I have never seen the grooming of a BORZOI (aka “Russian Wolfhound). I know they are rare but I grew up w/ lots of them & would love to see bath & comb out of one.

Beautiful job. Proper and minimal shaving. Only pro groomers can stay at it hard for four hours like this. I imagine the owners do put some grooming in or it would be worse. It would be impossible to watch this whole thing slow, but it would have been nice to slow down a few bits to show your different detangling and deshedding techniques. Personally, I don't like furminators because I think they damage the hairs and a regular brush gets off more dirts and stimulates the hair folicles. I love boar bristle (cheap from china) for dirt and thick metal pin brush for deshedding, and thin metal pins, scissors, fingers and combs for mats

I MISS my newfoundland She was only 5 years and 5 months old...when she was diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer in ALL her lymph nodes) We took her to the vet on a Monday cause she was losing weight, not eating, and labored breathing... Tue we got the results back and they said it was cancer....they said she should have about 2 weeks.... sadly she lived for only 6 days after her visit...her last night she was unable to eat...her lymph nodes were huge (at the time of her visit you couldn't even feel them) ..by the 6th day her collar was too tight around her neck...she couldn't lay down..she wasn't drinking water tired but unable to lay...out of breath , couldn't eat..she was miserable...I couldn't do it to her no more...I loved her too much for her to suffer like she was...so in March of 2022 we put our gentle giant to sleep...and somehow I think she knew because she kept looking at me .. like she was saying thank you... For letting me go... R.I.P Baby girl Coco 10/17 3/2022 You are missed
