I was in over my head with this project, and then I found your instruction video. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

HH, this instruction was perfect! I tried a few configurations to no avail. After I saw your video, I saw the yellow wire, two ballast setup and I knew this might be the answer. I picked up the wire connectors and made the jumpers, removed the wire caps and followed your example. Ten minutes later -- I had light!! Spot on!! Thank you!

Had so much trouble trying to rewire my dual ballast, 4 bulb fixture. Found this video, and my LEDs were on and running in less than 10min. Perfect DYI video!

Best video for double ballast 4 bulb LED conversion. Mine is a 3 way (2 switches to operate on either side of room) that is usually why you have 2 ballasts in one 4 bulb fixture. Wasn't sure if all double wired tombstone wires get hooked together on each side. This confirmed that it does. Worked perfectly. Thanks

Best video I've seen on doing the conversion to direct wire LED, simple and direct. Thanks

I second that you explained a double blast so simple Thanks

For the neutral and power wires, does it matter WHICH quick connect they go into (yellow, red, or blue)? Thanks
@tajeaton3 жыл бұрын
what is the difference between using the quick connects and jumpers versus simply connecting all wires from one end together an making them the neutral and all the wires on the other end and making them the hot?
@mamaswamma12343 жыл бұрын
No difference at all, just be careful because sometimes you will have tombstones that have your hot and neutral on the same side.

Your four bulb fixture has eight lamp holders. You hooked up six wires only to your neutral wire and Hot wire? how does the furth socket work? on neutral and hot work? Is this example using Shunted or Un shunted lamp holders?

This is the ONLY video I could find showing/explaining the issue I have- 2 banks of 5x4 double end lights. I hesitated since there were multiple comments about a "flash" and blowout. I asked the manufacturer/seller for help- no help at all. So I tried black only/white only- nogo. I tried adding the additional wire to each end, knowing I had a bunch of "extra" lights if they blew out. THIS DID WORK. I have no idea why. I'm still curious, and if I could, I'd pull one apart to figure out WHY it works, but I can't, and I don't care... IT DOES WORK. Thanks!

Good afternoon can use a 3 hole quick connect

Does this work on a double switch room (3 way)

Where you switch a light has no bearing on how a fixture is wired unless you want half the fixture on different switches instead of a dimmer. Power hits the switch first not the light all the switch does is open or break the hot wire.

Why only six wires on each side while you have 4 tombstones= 8 wires on each side? Thank you!

Just rewired one of mine. Plugged it in, a split second of light and then nothing. Check to make sure it was wired correctly, checked all the connections, changed bulbs and still just a flash. Any suggestions?

Me too what happened nothing

Just did mine today. Same thing when I put in the tube bulb. Flash of bright light for a second, then down to super dim. Have you figured out why and what to do? Thanks.

I have not Derek. I wish I can because I got about 15 of the 4 lamp for free and want to convert them.

If you don't have the right tombstone it feeds way too much voltage into a bulb that only pulls minimal voltage. Since you remove the ballast there is no voltage regulation so you need to buy an led bulb that has a built in ballast. Check the bulb specs before buying/installing.

At least that is my understanding after researching this for a few days, also I'm a 3rd year electrical apprentice. So I'm not exactly an expert. I've done other methods of converting to led, but they involve buying and installing a new ballast and that isn't time or cost efficient consider you need to make sure the led ballast you aquire can be fed the appropriate voltage your light pulls from the panel. Which, fyi in a residential situation, the voltage being fed to your light is give or take 99% of the time is 120V. If this helps you let me know I'm curious.

What if i open the tombstone and there's a white wire jumping from 1 tombstone to the other .. should i worry about that?

Thank you..i did exactly what u did and works like a champ

What’s wrong with just a red wire not to connect red, blues and yellows ti the neutral on one end and red, blues and neutrals on the hot side of fixture. This quick connects aren’t cheap when you have 100 lights to do
@jhuanrdz388 Жыл бұрын
you need close more the camera because is not clear the colors
@ks130774 жыл бұрын
imagine a fixture with nothing on it. No wires no ballast, simple so far? Now each tombstone socket gets a power and neutral wire coming out and gets connected to same on the other side. That is it. Color does not matter

Don’t wire it this way! He didn’t wire according to T 8 ballast
