Hot tip: The 8 Hour Cream is basically petroleum jelly. You can get the same effect from Vaseline at a fraction of the price.

@@alyajewellery I was a devotee to the EA 8 hour cream as well and then saw a dermatologist speak about the virtues of Vaseline and thought to myself ‘that 8-hour cream reminds me of Vaseline’ so I checked the ingredients list and sure enough, the main ingredient is petroleum jelly with some fragrance and colour thrown in.

Careful with 8 hour cream, it’s an oil based moisturiser and it’s a hit or miss. I used mine one day and I shit you not my skin has since broken out into a severe allergic reaction. It can make makeup slip off your face and too much will just sit on your skin

a frottage pencil is a type of pencil used to create a smudged or blurred effect. "frottage" literally just means "to rub" it's common in art but ig it's also common to non-artist for a whole diff reason, which is why their mind is always in the gutter when they hear that word lmao

Am I the only one confused on why we do our best for a dewy glass skin base just to matify it with powder? 😂
@ciaochau28736 ай бұрын
Well dewy glass skin is like a base and matifing with powder is for the finish look. Just like we should use lip balm before wearing lipstick no matter your lipstick will be lip gloss or lip matte. Back to your question, the reason why we do best for a dewy glass skin base (facial mask, moisturiser and even adding balm into primer/ foundation) is mainly to prevent cakey. But also, the glow will make your skin healthy, especially if you want to achieve light, no-make/ natural makeup. And adding powder is only for areas you don’t want overglowy (mainly where you apply bronzer and where you don’t want to catch too much attention)
@lynymII5 ай бұрын
The powder serves the purpose of mattifying areas that you don't want that shine, for example the area between the nose and lips, sides of the forehead, sides of the nose, and the jawline. This way the only areas that reflect light are the highest points of the face i.e. nose bridge, cheek bones, which provides a more dimensional look.
@AliceBunny054 ай бұрын
You don't necessarily want every area of your face to look too dewy, because it comes off as oily. Usually you want a dewy finish in the areas your face will be catching the light. You also dont necessarily need to use it immediately, it can be carried with you and used as your oils naturally come out through the day, so you use it then to bring you back to a non-oily looking level of dew.

@tsaradestiana71516 ай бұрын
The base (primer, foundation and powder) more matter than the spray for long lasting stage makeup. I heard some of them use Lancome Idole Foundation for that
@lynymII5 ай бұрын
Skincare prep is really important before applying any type of base makeup. I recommend you watch ASMR Soom's videos of when she's getting her makeup done at a salon and take note of the products they're using. Typically, they will wipe the face down with a toner pad, add a mist, and a lightweight essence/cream. I don't see many use primers, but when a primer is used, they use very small amounts on oily areas like the sides of the nose. One of the key steps is using very thin layers of foundation (korean MUAs use a thin foundation brush and apply it almost like they're painting), they then build these layers depending on which areas need more coverage. To prevent cakey-ness, powder is only lightly applied to areas to eliminate any unwanted shine like the eyebrows, and the sides of the nose (NOT directly on the nose bridge, since the shine gives the appearance of a taller nose bridge. I've seen newjeans' makeup artist use the pony effect setting spray.
