I'm 41 and I've mastered "living below my means"

I mastered living below my means, and budgeting in my 20s. I grew up with good generational money cycles and habits, so I didn't need to break those. I mastered minimalistic thinking in my 40s (as a child of parents who were teenagers during the depression, I have a scarcity mindset).

Very inspiring to watch you grow alongside your dad (probably mostly to the credit your mom 😂❤) we’re the same age and I had such a close relationship with my dad. He passed away at a young 50 years old and it was so traumatic and unexpected that even after 11 years, I’m still struggling. Your father reminds me so much of my dad. But to see you carrying on this legacy is really special and I pray you continue to be successful. Your children will continue this lineage and on and on. So beautiful to witness this firsthand over the last 20 years of listening to your fathers advice via FPU.

Something I learned early on and I'm grateful. I got a job working nights and i was making more money than i was used to so, bought 'all the things' that if i, get a bike i can go to the park for rides or through the country and get out more and i'll be happy, Im getting a bujo with highlighters and all the the things so i can track and journal and I'll be happy, I bought a bible and a study bible that weren't cheap, and i'll be happy... trying to buy my happiness and i realised that i'd get momentary happiness when i bought something, but it didn't Truly make me happy. and from then on I didn't feel the need to buy things to make me happy, I still buy things but i dont look for my happiness in stuff anymore XO

Rachel- I love your show. Can you please do a show on collage and scholarships? I have a daughter who is a Jr in high-school and it is all so overwhelming. Where do you go look for scholarships? If you get a scholarship, what do you do with that money? Savings account? And is it taxable? How do we get the most scholarship money... we just want her to go to college debt free! Thanks!

I wish every dollar had the option of bi-weekly budgeting for those who need to see it as an easier breakdown and who does understand the full month Outlook.

Most of my family lives on the pine ridge reservation in South Dakota. Most people do not make more than $15,000 a year. Many people who live in the country all over the US do things people in the city should be doing to survive. For instance, making your own laundry soap, or growing your own food or even learning trades to save you money. Learn how to change your oil on your vehicle.

If you are disciplined only you can pay for everything you need by card and then pay it all off and get free money back in terms of pts. For many it's difficult but since I've turned 18, i have paid 0$ in interest and I've gotten back 1000s of dollars in points. Maybe close to 10000+ honestly.
