No unnecessary chatter. It was interesting to see the whole process. I looked through everything. I'm looking forward to the continuation 🙂

Reliving the knocking the cabin off the foundation with the excavator was no fun but the rest of it was cool. Happy 4th to you too. Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Yes, thank you! It was a big moment in the build, so even though it was not my finest moment I believe it has to still be in there! 🇺🇸 🎆

I know! It’s been too long, cabin isn’t going to finish itself!

You should really put your logs on either stone or concrete piles, wood rots very rapidly in the ground

The post it sits on now are temporary, the entire cabin will be reassembled on a permanent foundation

Are you going to build a stronger foundation for the Cabin?
@DIYDemasiАй бұрын
Absolutely, posts are temporarily, it will all be disassembled after the walls are to the appropriate height, then reassembled on a concrete foundation.

Do you not have to let the logs dry or cure?
@DIYDemasiАй бұрын
Depends on your preference, most builders do, however not many build with their own logs. If you don’t let them season you just have to account for the settling that will occur. In my case I’m disassembling the cabin once I get to the top of the wall and moving it to a permanent foundation. By that time my logs are going to be pretty low in moisture and will have less settling to do.

Should have made a more stable foundation first.
