In the south we speak to everyone! It was so strange to me when we visited Illinois and no one would speak back as I waved, smiled, and said hello, hi, how are you to people walking right past me! I had to ask my husband what was wrong with them, since they were looking directly at me as I spoke or waved. He explained it all to me. I was very shocked! I thought everyone was raised the same way

Right! As a Texan, we wave and say "how you doing" to everyone. And if you pass the same person more than once, you smile at them lol
