It just takes a few years of your team being in the toilet to appreciate a talented QB when he finally arrives. Lawrence's agent will ask for 10 yr $550m+ 100% guaranteed. Try not to laugh in his face. No way. 10 wins this year, offer 5yr $150m and negotiate to 5/$200. If Jesus intervenes, and Jacksonville wins the Super Bowl, well you'll have mortgage the stadium and hire cheerleaders to play defense cause you won't be able to afford anyone else for the team.

Tua in 8 games playing behind the #2 graded center in football this past season: 7-1, 182/258 (70.5%), 2373 yards, 9.2 AVG, 16 TD, 7 INT, 108.6 passer rating, 67.3 QBR, 34.25 points per game Tua in 10 games playing behind his backup, literally the worst graded center in football: 4-6, 226/341 (66.3%), 2450 yards, 7.2 AVG, 14 TD, 8 INT, 91.2 passer rating, 50.8 QBR, 22.9 points per game The completion percentage, passer rating, and QBR with him would put Tua at #2/2/4 and without him would be #12/17/20. Tua for the full season finished #5/5/10. Scaled to 17 games, the yards/TDs would be 5043/34 with him and 4165/24 without him. 5/8 of the games with the starter were on the road and 6/10 of the games with the backup were at home. The only games Miami scored less than 24 points with Williams at center were vs KC and LV when their other top run blocking lineman Hunt was out. O-Line health matters, regardless of time of year/temperature.

I'm a Bills fan, but I think Tua gets a bad wrap. We Bills fans like to say "11-1 vs Josh Allen!" to give Dolphins fans a hard time, but reality is football is the ultimate team sport & wins aren't a QB stat. It's not like him & Allen go out on the field and 1v1 each other. As great a mind as McDaniels is, he gets out-coached quite often. And Bills fans should know, McDermott gets out-coached by Andy Reid every post season. Allen plays great against the Chiefs, but it's not all about him. I'm not saying Tua is as great as Allen, but he's still a good QB. You don't need to have the #1 QB in the league to win a SB, otherwise Brady would have 20 rings instead of 7.
@idawg7332
@idawg7332 26 күн бұрын
Dolphins fan here. I feel like in a way it is qb vs qb even if they aren't on the field at the same time. Like if you're in a shootout each qb has to be at least partially thinking about how they have to surpass what the other is doing because they know the defense isn't helping much. And on the other hand if its a low scoring close game where the defenses are shutting everything down the qbs have to be thinking about how they have to get their offense figured out before the other qb does.
@corey2232
@corey2232 26 күн бұрын
@@idawg7332 But even in a shoot out, it's QB vs Defense. It's Josh Allen going against the Dolphins D (and coaching) vs Tua going against the Bills D (and coaching). The Dolphins WC loss for example - The Chiefs had arguably the best defense in the league. Tua vs that D is not the same as Mahomes vs the Dolphins D. I get what you're saying, but it's not like the NBA where players have much more individual control over the outcome on both offense & defense. Using a Bills example, Josh Allen scored the go-ahead TD in a playoff game with 13 seconds left. 99% of the time, that's game over. Did HE screw up the ensuing kick off, defensive stand, FG to tie the game, and OT which he never played in?

Tua's problem is that he gets hurt a LOT, and he's not exactly some transcendent talent to make up for it...and even if he was--the best ability is availability. You can't reliably push for a Lombardi with Tua.

I swear, people fear crediting play-calling more than they fear agreeing with Aaron Rodgers about you-know-what. We take Fields' scrambling ability for granted but seriously, how long would Tua, Goff or even *Tom Brady last* on the Bears? Because of what? O-line play, o-line play-calling, receivers who drop passes that hit them in the hands or run routes wrong or receiver play-calling? All of the above? This channel is called "Football Analysis" but when people comment to "correct" something said, no analysis appears ever. It gets really annoying. Tua is putting up questionable numbers _with_ Tyreek Hill Always Getting Open & without having to scramble half as much as Fields. "Could those things be factors?" If not, why spend F.A. $ & draft picks on getting o-linesmen & receivers? Why does everyone forget that these things matter every three seconds?

Bryce Young also has a lot to prove. Panthers upgraded the entire offensive so he no longer has an excuse for poor play. Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. But I feel like for A-Rod and the Jets, fans shouldn't feel too bummed out if they don't make a SB. If you have a winning season again, I think that merits for celebration cuz... when was the last time that happened? And then, if they make it to the playoffs, even more celebration cuz that hasn't happened in 14 years. So I feel like there is pressure for A-Rod and yet not much of it. There's more pressure on Tua, Prescott and Lawrence if anything. Tua and the Dolphins always have that December crash, Dak and the Cowboys are first round hit wonders and T-Law and the Jags, they're a rollercoaster. So those 3 really need to produce this year

Jordan love was the best QB in the league the last 8 games of the season in every major category. What makes that more impressive than these other guys is he literally doesn’t have a #1 receiver. Or even really a true #2 either. He has rookies at receiver and TE and UDFAs all over the place lol. Tua and Mahomes, Dak, and every other top QB has at least 1 elite receiver if not 2 and an elite TE! Love got better every game while these other guys fell off. The 49ers are freaking stacked! They have 3 top RBs, the 2nd best TE in the league, the best FB of a generation, the best RB in the league, and probably 2 elite receivers. They were the 3rd best team in rushing yards allowed. They had 22 interceptions last year as well which was tied for 1st in the leage and they were ranked 9th in sacks with 48… When you’re #1 in interceptions, #9 in sacks that makes being 14th in passing yards look deceiving. Comments on all QBs. 1. Tua: I blame alot of the end season woes of Tua on Mike McDaniels. I think hes a brilliant Offensive Mind but sometimes he makes things way too complicated for his team. He has a habit of abandoning the run and not getting receivers easy lay ups when they need it. Not saying Tua is completely devoid of blame he crap the bed too but you as a coach should not expect Tua to be as Sharp as he is in the regular season. 2. Dak: honestly i think at this point most fans have accepted that Dake isnt going to an NFC championship anytime soon. Cowboys have some of the worst luck when it comes to the playoffs. His teams are stacked but they usually perform very average in the prime time games. For me i think the coaching staff really failed Dak in the GB game because Mike McCarthy made the game way too predictable and Dan Quinn just flat out decided not gameplan around defending the run. But at this point I cant trust that Dallas will get Dak the coaching staff he needs to get at least an NFC championship. 3. Arod: in my opinion isnt doing anything this year. I mean i don't think Arod is over the hill like some people are saying. Even if Arod is the same guy we seen in 2020 or 2021. Hes still not going anywhere with Nathaniel Hackett as OC 4. Trevor: Honestly as a Jags fan i wanna have faith that Trevor will turn it around but i dont know if I see it. Not because i have a suspicion that Lawrence is not the guy. Hes most definitely the guy. But i dont have alot of faith in my organization to turn it around. We had a crappy o line last year and completely collapsed the last half of the season. Arod is the reason why Nathaniel Hackett is even with the Jets. He's worked with him for 3 years in Green Bay and still worked his magic. Still put up decent numbers despite being late into his career. if anything, his time with the Broncos and last year with the Jets only proves that Nathaniel Hackett is nothing with Rodgers lol. At this point, the only thing that would really hold him back is the fact that he's a 40-year-old man attempting to play football after an Achilles tear. If the o-line doesn't learn how to protect aaron or freaking score, then they're toast. Aaron's been around long enough to bypass the calls Hackett makes, which i fully believe he did in green bay.

As a Cowboys fan who was 14 when we won our last ring (I'm 42 now). Getting blown out last year by #7 seed Packers last year, I'm out on Dak. His main supporters can't say anything. Choke job. It was set up for us to go to the chip game. I'm open to him and us moving on completely, even taking a step back to go 5 miles forward eventually.

I definitely believe that Dsk is under the most pressure of all quarterbacks to get it done this year. 2 playoff wins in 8 seasons and the schedule they have this year, including another trip to SF is not doing him any favors. Let’s not forget that ownership did nothing to fill the gaps of talent that departed. Love your content by the way ✊🏾 5:31

Not a Tua fan, but Miami not only lost almost their entire front 7 plus two secondary players within their last 5 games but also lost either Hill, Waddle, or both for 3 of those games. That's why rattling off stats all day while running to generalities like "backups have to step up" is a waste of time. Doesn't tell the story. As for Trevor Lawrence, there are tons of QBs that should be on a hot seat before him, including Tua. All of the justification used to put him here in three years when one of those three was a 2nd level playoff appearance is garbage. The type of stuff I expect to hear from fantasy football fans, not people who understand the game. Can't go farther than that. It's ridiculous.

Jets act like a big market NBA team. Horrible season with some good additions 2 years ago, add an aging superstar and now expect to win the Super Bowl. 49ers are proof you can have near perfect personal across the board and still come up short in football. You need a lot of chemistry, guys to buy in, and coaching to fill in the gaps. Plus a lot of luck to stay healthy and have balls bounce your way every once in awhile

Tagoviloa is clearly good enough to take a team all the way, but not ANY team. In other words, he has limitations, and isn't the sort of QB who can throw a team on his back and carry them week after week like the very best qbs in the league can. But how many qbs are there who can actually do that? Maybe three or four, or five at the very most? But Matt Stafford and Joe Flacco both have Super Bowl rings, and Brock Purdy has a NFC championship ring; Tua could be a positive contributor to a championship-caliber team as much as those three were. The question the Dolphins have to ask is, "what are the chances we could get someone who is a clear upgrade over Tagoviloa at the position?" And the answer is "there's almost no chance in the foreseeable future." So with that in mind, Miami should absolutely pay Tua, but they should try to pay him like what he's worth, i.e., a tier two qb. He's not max money good, and if he forces Miami to pay him like he is he'll soon find out that its a help of a lot harder to out up big numbers when your team can't afford to pay for quality talent at the other 21 starting positions.

I’m surprised Justin Herbert isn’t on this list. Peter King in his second to last Football Morning in America article said that Justin Herbert is the player that’s under the most pressure going into the 2024 season. As a Chargers fan (a true blue Chargers fan at that), I agree with King and I’m really hoping Herbert succeeds. But being in a division with Patrick Mahomes makes things nowhere near easy and having a major overhaul on your roster, primarily the offense (Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Austin Ekeler, Gerald Everett all being gone), makes things worse. His WR1 will be Joshua Palmer, who I think is good, but isn’t a top 10 (maybe 15 or 20) wide receiver and his WR2 and WR3 will be Quentin Johnston, who I hope has a major bounce-back season, and Ladd McConkey, who I have high hopes on. I don’t expect the Chargers to be contenders or world beaters, but I want them to make a good first impression under Jim Harbaugh.
@BenDover-lg4wv
@BenDover-lg4wv 26 күн бұрын
Herbert is not under much pressure since he plays in a division with the greatest and dominant qb of this generation. Throw in all the injuries he’s had around him and awful coaching and he as far exceeded expectations. Stafford and Rodgers is a good comparison but I think the chargers are a better team than those lions.

At 3:45 he obviously airmails it. I didn’t watch that game but Tua, I think, struggles to throw in cold weather. I don’t have a number on his hand size but that might be why. Anyone who’s ever thrown a pass in truly cold weather knows the football may as well be a rock. But QBs like Josh Allen fare better as he has 10.5-plus inch hands and he can throw 80 yards. It’s part of the reason I thought Josh was a perfect fit in Buffalo. But if Tua is in warm weather he tends to play better. It’s part of the reason why I think there’s only one way the Dolphins make the Super Bowl with Tua: they’ll have to get the bye or get lucky by, say, having some team upset the Chiefs and/or Bills.

Up front, this video posits that these days QBs are judged by wins. However, in the year 2024 I don't believe there are a lot of thought leaders or decision makers judging QBs by win-loss record as a sole metric, or even giving it equal weight to quality math and stats based evaluation. Clearly, looking at 2023 nobody is saying Mahommes is equivalent to the other 11-win QBs. This is a bit of a red flag to me that this video creator might not understand analytics of NFL evaluation. But let's see how the rest of this goes.

Tua: I think he's the right guy to run the McDaniels offense, but they need to fine tune some things for sustaining it all season long (part of which includes not having injuries at key positions). I think he'll be there awhile Dak: No idea why Jerry Jones is playing games with the contract. I'd be hard pressed to name a QB that might actually be better than Dak who would also be available next year. Sometimes you just keep dancing with your chosen partner Rodgers: too old, too busy doomscrolling conspiracy theories on twitter. Jets are screwed. Lawrence: honestly, I bet we see improvement and he'll be in jax for a decade more. Maybe not Mahomes level ever, but generally very very good

I disagree with Rodgers being under a lot of pressure. Yes he has the biggest expectations out of pretty much anyone in the league but like so what? He could play absolutely awful this year and then never play again and he'd still go down as one of the best qb's to ever play. He already got his bag and just because he has a bad season when hes 41 that's not gonna ruin his reputation.

I think it's less Dak than it was McCarthy and Gallup fucking Dak over. When it took til week 6 for the scheme to finally change and still the offense was extremely predictable, it's hard to overly succeed. Look at the Packers game as a prime example, when the ball is only placed in your QB's hands on 3rd and long until you're down by 20, it's hard to come back. Yet they nearly did it. Dak proved during the season that he will win you games if you let him throw it 40 times and abandon the run early, yet McCarthy didn't give him the chance to do it. Gallup dropping half of his targets didn't help Dak out either. I genuinely believe Dak wins MVP if Gallup doesn't play in the Chargers game

I’ve never fully believed in nfl stat padding until dak Prescott. The discrepancy in play when playing good teams vs bad teams is actually insane. He puts up historic numbers on teams like the commanders and patriots and plays like a backup against top competitors like San Fran. Even watching him play against those bad teams it feels like he’s running up the score to inflate his numbers, they’ll be up by 20 points and continue going deep against the bottom of the bin defenses
@SUPEREV4Nyt
@SUPEREV4Nyt 26 күн бұрын
He is absolutely a stat padder. My god, I can't believe people blindly voted him into 2nd of MVP voting when all he did was play bottom 10 teams week in and week out, and whenever he played a better team, he shat all over himself. Even when they beat the Eagles, it was during a historic collapse. Look at the Green Bay game for example. The cowboys scored 32 points, sounds like he had a good game, until you realize literally *half* of their points came in just the 4th quarter. I mean shit, it was 27-7 at halftime. Dak is the worst stat padder I've ever seen. He wasn't "trying to get them back in the game", he was trying to make himself look better.
@cyclodrone
@cyclodrone 22 күн бұрын
I never knew that "stat padding" included the 8 games he sat out during the 4th quarter and let the backups play, like I get he should preform better in big games, however it cant all be blamed on him with a near dysfunctional coaching staff, say what you want about the playoffs but stat padding is the exact opposite of what happened this year, if he truly was he would have had 5k passing yards and 40+ tds,

He'll be fine. Before Trevor I'd put Justin Herbert, the guy on the other side of Trevor's comeback win. Ya got Lamar Jackson coming off yet another disappointing playoff season. Then there's Kyler Murray who is practically a bust. Lastly, Kirk Cousins has even more pressure to get to the playoffs and actually win games with a new team.
