The nearside lower latch on my Ducato Maxi was snapped off inside. I replace it with a new part. I also come up with a replacement for the armoured cable protector for the rear door looms.

Nice one mevi! Been trying to find the chain protector for ages, can't find them for sale so will do something similar to what you've done here 👍😁

This worked fine for me. Didn't seem to snag at all. Vans with 180 doors don't have such a complicated loom protector. It's just a hinged curved tube-type thing, so that might explain the scarcity of that part. The doors got swapped in the end as they were never going to shut properly. The donor vehicle had different 180 hinges and all the looms and cable protectors included. Still fit my van *perfectly* even though it was from a facelift non-maxi model. Lots of adjustability (which is the time consuming stuff), but be sure that the ground is level before adjusting as there is some flex in the body.

I've replaced one of our Vauxhall Movano barn doors with a Renault Master door. It shuts and aligns just fine, but the central locking doesn't work. Even though the wiring system that came inside the new Renault door clipped straight in to the Movano main wiring easily. Any garage currently has a minimum 2-month lead time to look at it! So any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I've only ever swapped doors for this specific van (both rear doors and sliding door). I've had a look for the lock mechanism for the Master/Movano and I don't see a difference between those brands. I fully expect both Renault and Vauxhall models to be assembled in the same factory. I did Google to see if your lock mechanism is coded to the CANBUS. I didn't see anything. Were the new doors from a van of a similar age? For me, I have doors from a "facelift" 2014+ van with no problems... But that's a Fiat. It's possible that although the connector is the same, a newer/older revision of the van has different wiring or a different lock design. Do you still have the old doors to strip them for parts? If not, inspect the wiring looms inside the door and going into the lock mechanism behind the door handle. Look for fraying or damage, re-seat the connections. Also check the cables (look like bicycle brake cables) that run from that lock to each of the top/bottom catches. I wonder, if you hadn't kept the original parts, then you won't even be able to lock the door with the key? Not sure I can help beyond all this, but I hope that gives you some clues.

@@Mevi thank you Mevi, not only for your in-depth reply, but also the speed you sent it! The van doors are of the same age range (2010+) and fit perfectly. I do have the original door with the wiring still in it. I'm just not experienced in doing this kind of work. But needs must. I'll have a proper look inside the new door system and see if thats where issues lie. Hopefully it can be resolved without needing to swap things around 🤞 thank you again!

Is it the cable or the inside of the door handle? It's been a while since I had the door apart, but I can probably find a parts list. NOTE: you might save money buying identical Citroen branded parts.

Are these cable tension springs genuine? Is it self-made?

The springs were in the van, I believe they were original parts. They are easily damaged - my repair worked. They are ONLY fitted on vans with 270° hinges. Normal 180° doors do not have the same cable. They do not use springs. 270° doors are hard to find. I replaced my 270° doors with 180° doors. They fit perfectly.

I couldn't find that part from a supplier. These were already in the van but were broken. I replaced both of these damaged doors with doors I bought on eBay. I made a video about that. The paint match was good with 2014 doors on my 2011 van.

@@czesjaku6280 I was able to replace the doors cheaper than the cost of the parts. If you can find 270° doors, salvage the parts you need, sell the parts you don't.
